August Kranti Divas Celebration

Guidance Lecture by Mr. Vivek Kolhe, a Spoke Person of Sambhaji Brigade

Mr. Vivek Kolhe is seen guiding the students on August Kranti Din while other dignitaries look on

History Department organized a special programme on August Kranti Din on Aug 9, 2013. Principal Dr. A. L. Kulat presided over the programme while Mr. Vivke Kolhe was the keynote speaker. He threw light on the significance of the day in the Indian Freedom Struggle. In the presiding address, Principal Dr. Kulat called on students to let not sacrifices of the great freedom fighters would go in vain. Dr. Prashant Kothe, Head, Dept. of History, Dr. Shankar Raut were also chiefly present on the occasion. BA I student Miss. Pallavi Hingankar beautifully conducted the programme while Prof. Sachin Kothekar proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was largely attended by lecturers and students.

‘ Sambhaji & Mughal Relations’

A Guest Lecture by Mr. Amol Mitkari, Spoke Person of Sambhaji Brigade

Mr. Amol Mitkari is seen guiding the students on Chhatrapati Sambhaji-Mughal Relations while other dignitaries look on.

In view to increase students’ horizon of understanding, a special guest lecture was organized by the History Dept. on Dec. 22, 2013. Mr. Amol Mitkari, spoke person of Sambhaji Brigade was present as the keynote speaker.

He guided students on Sambhaji-Mughal relations right from Chhatrapati Shivaji and child Sambhaji’s visit to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb to his martyrdom. In view to foster a spirit of curiosity and earnestness in students to study History, an educational trip to Sun Temple at Lasur in Daryapur tehsil, Dist. Amravati was organized by the Dept. of History on Jan 24, 2018. The trip organized under the kind guidance of Principal Dr. A. L. Kulat. Lasur temple is one ofg the finest examples of ancient religious architecture. It is supposed to be in Hemadpanti style. Though it is a sun temple, Shivlinga was installed its inner sanctum. It is held as the replica of Konark Sun Temple. 20 students of Post- Graduation participated in the trip. It became successful in the leadership of Dr. Prashant Kothe, Head, Dept. of History and Prof. Sachin Kothekar.

The students of the Dept. of History prepared a special Historic Project.The students prepared beautiful model of a fort during Maratha regime elucidating water resource management on the forts situated in mountainous terrains. On 12th January, 2018 a workshop was organized to guide the history subjects for primary teachers in Akot taluka. This event was organized by History Department, Shri Shivaji College, Akot, Shardasagar and Primary Teachers. This program is considered as the President shri Vasudevrao Mahale. Mr. Nanasaheb Hingankar was the Honorable Honor. This program was guided by Maharashtra's great historian, Dr. Jashingrao Pawar, Kolhapur. This event was attended by 400 teachers, students and history lovers in Akot area. Dr. Prashant Kothe made an introduction to this event. Thanksgiving performed by shri Santosh Zamare.

Orgnized Modi Lipi Warkshop

Modi Script Training concluded

Shri Shivaji Arts, Commerce & Science College, Akot concluded on 10th October under the Department of History and the Directorate of Archives department of Modified Lepi Awareness campaign organized by the Govt.of Maharashtra, extension service under extension services.

The trial began on September 28 at the hands of Nain Tahsildar Rajesh Guravaj, Principal, Dr. A. L. Kulat, Rajkumar Wagh, Pune and Shailesh Wagh, Aurangabad as the main guide were present. The training was held in the college and 139 trainees participated. This class was concluded on 10th October. The Modi script was in the propagation of the twentieth century from the twelth century. Trainig classes were organized for the purpose of learning about the disappearing modi script and to use it as an employment generating tool because of its need to study. Manoj Rajput, Satish Rahorne, Directorate of Archives, Maharashtra Govt., Mumbai. And Firoz Khan Pathan, Directorat of Archives, Maharashtra Govt., Aurangabad has come. In the planning of this class programme Prof. Dr. Prashant Kothe, the head of History Department and prof. Sachin Kothekar played a key role in organizing this class workshop.

Historical Place “Hauz Katora” by Prof. Sachin Kothekar

Prof. Sachin Kothekar is seen interacting about the Hauz Katora to 15 tourists on Sept. 16, 2019 There are numerous historic places in Achalpur and one among them is Hauz Katora. This historic building which is situated at the outskirts of the town was built by Alauddin during Emadshahi Era. The three-storeyed building is situated at the middle of a lake. Its structure is octagonal. Constructed in red and yellow stone, it was built before some 500 years. It might have been used for summer stay of royal family members during Emadshahi regime. The building have very beautiful engravings.

Prof. Sachin Kothekar is seen delivering lecture on Social Integration

In view to unite society for the common good, Lokmanya Tilak launched Public Ganesh Utsav Celebration. He highlighted the role of public awareness, which is required in the present world as well, asserted Prof. Sachin Kothekar. He was addressing a special lecture at Achalpur on Sept. 17, 2019. He called on people to celebrate these festivals to boost social harmony. The programme was largely attended.
