The following are some of the resident hall expectations and regulations:

1. ZERO TOLERANCE: possession, use, sale, or intent to use/sell alcohol, prescription drugs, firearms, illegal weapons (large knifes, swords, brass knuckles etc.), tobacco (stick, chew, hookah etc.), or any other form of an illegal drug/substance will result in immediate disciplinary action and depending on the circumstances may involve state police. 2. KWU is a DRY CAMPUS. This means no alcohol can be on the premises or in the dorms. Being of legal drinking age (21) does not supersede this rule. 3. FISH are friendly and quiet. Residents may have them as pets if they choose. No other mammal, insect, reptile, or creature may reside in your residence halls. 4. VISITING HOURS are from ###### and no person(s) under the age of 18 are to be in the dorms unless accompanied by a responsible adult or legal guardian. There is currently no curfew in place for residents; however, quiet hours are in place from 10 PM-8 AM from Sunday-Thursday. During finals week, they are 24 hours a day. 5. Any defacing, defiling, or damage purposeful or not will be charged to the resident’s room(s) and split evenly among the roommates unless an individual takes full responsibility for such an incident. Costs of repair and replacement are subject to the Plant Operator, Business Office, and Student Development staff’s discretion.

Who has access to my room besides me (and my roommate)? The resident assistant (RA) in charge of your specific hall section has access to your room. The RA(s) on duty at any given time may also have access as well as the resident director in your residence hall and any maintenance staff member with requests to fix/clean a problem you may have in your rooms.

Random and unannounced searches (room and parking lot searches) by police and residence staff may occur if there is suspicion of any illegal activities or substances or violation of university policies. During holiday breaks, every room is entered in order to repair items and to conduct health and safety checks.

Any violations will be documented as full incident reports by the RAs and discipline will result.
