20 - FRANK CIGNETTI Aft er an All-America playing career at IUP, Frank Cignetti returned to his alma mater as in 1986 and became the athletic director in 1992. Over the next 20 seasons, he had a record of 182-50-1 and led IUP to 14 PSAC West titles and 13 trips to the NCAA playoff s. The Indians reached the semifinals six times and played for the National Championship in 1990 and 1993. At the time of his retirement in 2005, Cignetti was the third-winningest active coach in Division II football.

33 - MICHAEL MANN Michael Mann holds the majority of rushing records at IUP and is one of the top running backs in PSAC history. Despite sitting out the second half of several games with the Indians holding big leads, he rushed for 4,805 yards and 48 touchdowns, including 2,027 yards and 19 scores as a senior in 1993 when he led IUP to the National Championship game. Mann was named to the Coaches Association and Associated Press All-America teams.

75 - CHRIS VILLARRIAL Chris Villarrial enjoyed the longest NFL playing career of any former IUP player, spending eight years with the and three more with the Buff alo Bills before retiring following the 2006 season. During his career, he started a total of 132 games, splitting time between center and guard. Villarrial was a two-time All-America at IUP and was named the best off ensive lineman at the 1996 Snow Bowl, the Division II All-Star game, before being selected in the fift h round of the NFL Draft by the Bears.

86 - JIM HASLETT A three-time All-America linebacker at IUP, Jim Haslett was selected by the Buff alo Bills in the second round of the 1979 NFL Draft . He was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and named to the Bills’ Silver Anniversary team in 1984. Aft er retiring in 1987, Haslett embarked on a coaching career and was the head coach of the for six seasons. He was the NFL Coach of the Year in his first season when the Saints won the NFC West and posted their first playoff victory.
