This reflects a net addition of 34 vessels with an increase of 0.26 million GT during the calendar year 2020 (Table 1.1, Section 1). 1.2 Out of the 1463 vessels registered as on 31st December, 2020, 998 vessels (68%) with 1.67 million GT were engaged in coastal trade and the remaining 465 vessels (32%) with 11.34 million GT were deployed for overseas trade. Thus the tonnage deployed for overseas trade was 87.1% of Indian GT in contrast to 12.9% of the tonnage deployed for coastal trade (Table 1.1, Section 1). The growth of Indian Shipping Fleet (Overseas & Coastal Trade) during last three years is shown in Chart I. i 1.3 The age profile of Indian merchant shipping vessels as shown in Table 1 indicates that about 43.2% of the fleet was above 20 years of age, 11.6 % of the fleet was between 16-20 years 17.9 % of the fleet was between 11-15 years, 17.6 % of the fleet was between 6-10 years while 9.6 % of the fleet was in the age group of 0-5 years . The detailed age composition of Indian Shipping Fleet engaged in coastal & overseas trade is given in Table 2.3 (Section 2) & Table 3.3 (Section 3).

But, I am fortunate to have found friends, colleagues, and mentors who have inspired me to make this laborious task far from arduous. It was Frederick M. Asher, my advisor, who inspired me to turn to places where art historians do not usually venture. The temple city of Khajuraho is not just the exquisite 11th-century temples at the site. Rather, the 11th-century temples are part of a larger visuality that extends to contemporary civic monuments in the city center, Rick suggested in the first class that I took with him. I learnt to move across time and space. To understand modern Vrindavan, one would have to look at its Mughal past; to understand temple architecture, one would have to look for rebellions in the colonial archive. Catherine B. Asher gave me the gift of the Mughal world – a world that I only barely knew before I met her. Today, I speak of the Islamicate world of colonial Vrindavan. Cathy walked me through Mughal mosques, tombs, and gardens on many cold wintry days in Minneapolis and on a hot summer day in Sasaram, Bihar. The Islamicate Krishna in my dissertation thus came into being.

Armor of the Gods Page 2 Armor of the Gods We can wear the gods. Anyone can sit in the presence or field of a deity to connect with them, exchange energy, received gifts and insights, make offerings. This practice is common to spiritual systems. In Witchcraft it's called drawing down the moon, in Tantra it's called deity yoga, in Hellenistic ritual it's called theurgy or god-work, in Golden Dawn ceremonial it's called assumption of god-form. In all these practices you call a single deity. There is another practice of wearing the gods. This form maps multiple deities onto the human body. The effect of this practice is to build up an energy net in and around in the subtle body to protect the practitioner physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. In Tantra it's called nyasa, which means the act of placing a kavacam, a word translated into English as armor. I perform three specific practices. One comes from the Tantric Hindu tradition and is practiced today by millions of people. The second comes from the Kemetic tradition which is being revived in the African American community and by sincere Pagan and magical practitioners.

The article seeks to address the question by exploring images and god posters dedicated to the planetary deity Shani on Web 2.0. The article tracks Shani’s presence on a range of online platforms—from the religion and culture pages of newspapers to YouTube videos and social media platforms. Using Shani’s presence on the Web as a case study, the article argues that content drawn from popular Hinduism, dealing with astrology, ritual, religious vows and observances, form a significant and substantial aspect of online Hinduism. The article draws attention to the specific affordances of Web 2.0 to radically rethink what engaging with the sacred object in a virtual realm may entail. In doing so, it indicates what the future of Hindu religiosity may look like. How different religions reformulate ritual practices in the light of the pandemic and the theological and doctrinal implications of such reformulations is a topic for a different discussion.
