Mike Wolfer : Stitched Volume 2 before purchasing it in order to gage whether or not it would be worth my time, and all praised Stitched Volume 2:

This is the second in the series and I'll be getting the thrid0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A Shadow of the OriginalBy Paul SkowI read STITCHED Volume 2 immediately after reading Volume 1, and it was a pretty jarring transition even though it takes place almost immediately after the events of the first. All subtext is wiped clean out and we're left with a gratuitous gorefest, flat characters, and women as sex objects. Now while gratuitous violence is part and parcel of 's work, the other two most certainly are not. I am not familiar with author Mike Wolfer's other work, but something like this might be just fine in a zombie comic like ESCAPE THE LIVING DEAD.. but I expect something of slightly better caliber when Ennis's name is attached. My disappointment gradually increased with every page turn. While I would give STITCHED Volume 1 4/5 stars, I can only give Volume 2 a 2/5.(And though this is much more a personal preference, I wasn't particularly keen on the artwork either; it just had too much of an anime feel and was almost cartoonish in some panels. It wasn't bad really, I guess I'm just not a fan of Mr. Feranando Heinz Frukawa's style.)0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Doesn't quite pack the narrative or artistic punch of the first one, but an entertaining installation nonetheless.By CustomerMike Wolfer continues the unique and grotesque world of Stitched (idea originally conceived by Garth Ennis); hoever, on volume 2 there is a different artist. I am familiar with Fernando Heinz and he has a unique style which is almost a blend of Jacen Burrows and other horror works on the Avatar label mixed with a subtle hue of manga style pen strokes. especially in the facial structures of the characters. Overall I did like the first volume better. I did think Wolfer's original art was better suited to the genre and also the story line of the first one was a little bit more captivating. I would have liked to see some continuation from the characters from vol. 1 but vol. 2 has a much different lay out and story line. I do not want to reveal too much, but it does have a different lay out from the first one. Overall, Stitched Vol. 2 is still a good read and if you were a fan of the first one this won't fail to entertain. I have not read the third volume yet so I have no Idea where the series will take us from here but I definitely intend on purchasing and completing the 3 volume series.

Expanding the world of Garth Ennis’ innovative short film, Stitched, horror mainstay Mike Wolfer tells the next chapter in a gripping world of terror. The curse of the Stitched leaves the buried desert where it was spawned and is violently injected into the modern world. When a smuggler delivers the secret of the Stitched to a wealthy collector, the unsuspecting world learns that true horror doesn’t stay buried in the sands of time…it transcends them. A team of Navy Seals must attempt to secure the threat and find a way to destroy the Stitched and their secrets before they are loosed among an unsuspecting population. But the true horror of the Stitched isn’t only felt at their crushing granite fingertips, but in the terrifying turning process where the unwary become legions of the dead and unwilling tools of the controlling terrorist’s whims. The trade collects issues #8-13 of the ongoing horror series, Stitched.
