1.3 Judicial.

Drivers and/or entrant team managers/guardians of cars 7, 11, 14, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26, 31, 51 and 96 were interviewed by the Clerk of the Course (David Pierre) to ascertain how various on-track incidents occurred in both qualifying and racing sessions. Additional official television and in-car footage was also studied in supplement to the observer reports received – specifically footage from cars 7, 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26, 31, 46, 65, 96. It was considered that most events researched were racing incidents.

Driver of car 14 contravened MSA regulation C2.3 for an out of position start. Under MSA regulation G5.3.7 a penalty of 10 seconds was added to his race time. The driver was reminded of his right to appeal the decision of the Clerk of the Course.

Cars should not have practice starts, wheel spinning or tyre warming en route to the Assembly Area (or approaching grid). These routes are public areas, or marshal controlled areas and the hazard to them is great. A number of reports were made about our cars, from general public, teams and officials, who witnessed unsafe incidents. The only place to do this is on track, and not before grid line up. www.msaformula.com 1.4 Technical Report.
