ISSUE 2 | 2018 FORMULA 3 MACAU GRAND PRIX – FIA F3 WORLD CUP In Austria, Schumacher beat Robert Shvartzman FIA FORMULA 3 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP and won the weekend’s opening race. The German led the race, while Alex Palou put Shvartzman under pressure. Shvartzman held firm and finished second, Palou took the last podium place. Mick Schumacher scored his second win of the weekend in Race 2, moving up to the top in the points standings.Marcus Armstrong and Shvartzman finished second and third. Shvartzman scored his first win of the season in the final race of the weekend ahead of hard- charging Schumacher, who finished second. South African Jonathan Aberdien of Motopark finished third while Ticktum was fourth. Next up for the FIA F3 European Championship is the season finale at Hockenheim. In the Superstock race it was Dean Harrison, seventh at Macao last year, who clinched victory by just two-tenths of a second from Hickman. Long-time Macao competitor Conor Cummins, fifth at Macao last year, was third. Lee Johnston, eighth in last year’s Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix, finished fifth. Harrison also set a new Superstock lap record on his way to victory.
