I used to see my Grandfather conscientiously turning the starter handle on his Citroen C4 to free up the engine before starting it, after having checked all the fluid levels. My active participation in this activity was to pass him the rags. Different times would you say ? (well yes, the C4 not that of today, that of 1932 with the thermometer on the radiator and a 'floating' engine) Appreciate the only two graduations of thermometer: Summer temperature and Winter temperature.
