This was won by Graham Warren with 36 points, John Moss the runner-up with 33. They will both represent us at the end of season tournament at Bawburgh which sees all participating Norfolk clubs represented. Graham and John were congratulated by Ian Pilcher, Manager SSAFA Golf, who we were pleased to welcome to our event. He told us a little about the work of SSAFA, the oldest national tri-service military charity dating from the late nineteenth century. It works to ensure that the needs of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families are met in an appropriate and timely way. Its work in Norfolk is carried out by 55 volunteers and in 2017 it supported 431 dependents, and in harmony with other military charities distributed £255,000. Golf days play a small part financially but importantly help to promote an understanding of SSAFA and its work. 21 golfers played in our competition and £105 was raised. Before he left Ian presented Pat Holman with a SSAFA ‘shield’ for display within the clubhouse. Qualifying Stableford SSAFA Our friendlies this month have been played in a variety of conditions. We played at March on a saturated course losing 5-1. Contrasting sunny days saw our two home games with Middleton and Dereham finish 3-3. The Thetford team consisted of Jess Dixon playing off 2 and Shelley Pleasance off 4 so they provided formidable opposition. Our ladies played superbly and thanks to an impressive chip in by Tracy from off the green on the 9th, they finished the first 9 all square. They managed to hold this score until the 15th when they went 1 down. Shelley the sunk a long putt on the 16th for a birdie which put them in a dormie 2 position. Unfazed, our ladies won the 17th so both teams teed off on 18th with Thetford leading by 1 hole. Unfortunately Tracy and Trish could not pull off a win on the last hole so the match went to Thetford. It was a delight to watch really high quality golf from these four ladies and to witness a match played in such excellent spirit. Congratulations to the Thetford ladies, but also to our Ryston Park team for representing the Club in such a positive and sportsmanlike manner. Janet Coles Lady President FLAG SPONSORS - Morris Armitage Estate Agents We are very grateful to Morris Armitage Estate Agents for their generosity in sponsoring our new flags. We have white flags for back hole position, yellow flags (as shown) for middle of the green position and red flags for front of the greens. These are good quality flags with Ryston Park logo on one side and Morris Armitage on the other. Our Ladies Captain Boo Moore received a card from Ryston Normal for Norfolk Celebrity Desmond of Wiveton Hall Handicaps wishing her well. With the recommendation from England Golf to keep Boo enjoyed his programmes handicaps up to date, the Committee agreed with Mr P and a lady member’s Holman that all social cards, where a player has played daughter-in-law works in under their handicap, are to be submitted to the Lady's and Men's handicap secretaries so they can maintain Desmond’s office and an overall history of members playing ability. arranged the surprise. A 6 monthly review of handicaps will be taken, and these social cards will be used to give a view for the history of the players' golfing ability.

Ryston Park Newsletter May 2019 By Pam Taylor Broad Bordered Bee Hawk Moth ( First sighting for me) We have been blessed with some great weather for playing golf. The course has enjoyed the rain of late, and it is looking really good. The greens are running good and true and most of the fairways have a good bit of grass on them, so shots into the greens are easy (I still cant get them right though!). We now seem to have competitions every week, so there’s always plenty to play for. One of the highlights of the season is the upcoming Club Championship, which will be held on the 23rd of June. For those of you who have not played it, it is a 36 hole medal in one day with cups for both scratch and handicap scores. More importantly, there will be sandwiches and chips on offer in the clubhouse after 18 holes. I intend to be playing this, which did not seem possible in the winter when I was exhausted from having chemotherapy. I would love to see a big entry list - I hope lots of you can take part! The most important thing for all of us is to enjoy the golf we play, and play in a style that respects others. Enjoy! Club Captain Nigel Wagg Nigel Wagg Club Captain So much to say about the month of May that I hardly know where to start! Here are just some of the highlights: On Friday 10th May, I was very privileged to be at Hunstanton to watch Tiffany Mills and Ann Fletcher playing in the County Championships.

Chapter 11 to 15 Consideration of responses to the draft Local Plan review consultation (2019), and recommendations for Submission Local Plan review (2016 - 2036) 0 | P a g e Draft Policies – Marham Link to draft policy and comments in full received from the draft consultation stage: Local Plan Review 2019 - Keystone (objective.co.uk) Recommendation(s): • Carry forward the allocation made by the SADMP (2016) • Having considered all of the points raised, and in particular those of Norfolk County Council as the Local Highway Authority who would object to site being included in the Plan, it is proposed not to carry forward the draft allocation to the submission version of the Local review Plan (MAR1 / Site H219). • The housing numbers may suggest that there is no absolute requirement to allocate a site at Marham. However, given the that Marham is classed as Growth Key Rural Service Centre (GKRSC) it is recommended that Site 2H041 be proposed for the allocation of at least 35 dwellings as part of the Local Plan review • Amendments to supporting text in line with the above and to correct inaccurate information with regards to the description of Marham as highlighted by consultees • Summary of Comments: (Please see Appendix 1 for comments and responses) • Marham not located close to the A10 – so not in accordance with growth strategy • Some consider there is no need for a further housing allocation at Marham beyond that contained within the SADMP • Objections to proposed new draft housing allocation: Highways issues in terms of either access

  • JULY 2019 NEWSLETTER .Key
By Pam Taylor Ryston Park: a course by James Braid, Where plenty of Birdies are made, The Greens are quite fast, Lets hope it can last, So more great golf can be played. The year’s competitions are nearly done, Thankfully we have had lots of sun, But its not been too dry, The rain has fell from the sky, So let the ball fly and have fun. The bunkers now have more sand, But they’re not where your ball ought to land, Try to find the green, And never be mean, So all our golf will be grand. Cheers Nigel Ladies’ golf has been in full swing during a very busy July! We have had two trophy competitions, two friendlies, three league matches, and the Scratch team of Tiff, Ann and Tracy have played and won 3 times! With one more match to go in August, our star players are on course for a possible place at the top of Division 1. Whether they manage this or not, they have done amazingly well, and Ryston Park should be very proud of them and their manager Trish McManus. We may lack quantity in the Ladies’ Section, but we have plenty of quality. The League team managed to win both home games against Sheringham and Thetford, but lost away to Dunston Hall. Our friendly at home against Middleton Hall was a win to Ryston Park, but again we lost the away fixture at Feltwell. Thank you to all who played in any of these matches. Congratulations to Pam Taylor and Janet Rice who ended the month by bagging the Copper Jugs; and the Brownlow Bowl, (nice surprise!) will be coming to the Blyth residence this winter.
