Born in London from a wealthy family he eventually dabbled in many forms and styles starting from Pre-Raphaelite oils to illustrations, caricatures, to portraits, later impressionistic landscapes, as well as being a talented writer. Graham Robertson (born July 16, 1973) is an American filmmaker and author. A native of Denver, Colorado, Robertson studied film at the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Shortly thereafter, he found his way into the motion picture industry via set decoration and the art department working on numerous television series and feature films. In 2000, Robertson, along with co-creator Philip Stark unleased a viral internet spoof, Superfriends Wassup!, a parody of the Budweiser "Whassup?" commercial Graham Robertson is a Scottish international indoor and lawn bowler. He is the second most capped Scottish international of all time. He won a gold medal in the fours with Angus Blair, Willie Wood and Alex Marshall at the 1992 World Outdoor Bowls Championship in Worthing. Robertson won the men's pairs at the 1998 World Indoor Bowls Championship with bowls partner Richard Corsie. Gold and silver for classy Proteas By Alan Simmonds, Media Officer, Bowls SA Gold in the men’s trips and silver in the women’s fours went to South Africa’s Proteas at Cardiff’s Penylan club, with Israel, England, Wales also going gold in the Atlantic Championships. Yesterday was the climax of the event’s first week – the past six days of the championships featured 25 countries from the European, African and South American theatres at four host clubs around the Welsh capital. The reverse of this week’s programme of men’s pairs and triples along with women’s singles and fours gets under way today. In the blue riband women’s singles gold medal match it was experienced Ruti Gilor from Israel who prevailed over pocket-sized Guernsey dynamo Lucy Beere, winning 21-15 after 24 ends. The first half of the 21 shots-up final was a dour affair with scores peeled at 11-apiece after 14 ends. However, the excitement level lifted over the following 10 when the 64-year-old Israeli star moved up a gear to claim the points on eight ends adding 14 shots to four as she powered to victory. England’s Jamie Walker and Steve Mitchinson achieved a great result at Penylan when they clinched the men’s pairs gold medal, beating Scottish superstars Alex Marshall and Paul Foster in their 18-end final. Earlier today the much-awaited men’s triples final saw a rejuvenated South African trio, under the astute guidance of hard man Billy Radloff, topple Scotland’s irrepressible Commonwealth Games champions Ronnie Duncan, Derek Oliver and Darren Burnett.

Experienced Lawn Bowls Line-Up Will Be Key to Team Scotland Success
Embargoed until 10:00hrs Tuesday 25 March 2014 EXPERIENCED LAWN BOWLS LINE-UP WILL BE KEY TO TEAM SCOTLAND SUCCESS Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) in conjunction with Bowls Scotland, today announced the ten lawn bowlers selected to represent Team Scotland at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games this summer. Nine of the 10 bowlers have competed in a total of 18 Commonwealth Games between them and with three Gold medals to their credit, their international experience is sure to be the key to success this summer. Five men and five women will make up the full quota of lawn bowlers who will compete at the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Centre 24 July – 1 August 2014, against the magnificent backdrop of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Each bowler will compete in two of four events: Singles or Fours and Pairs or Triples. However with four months until the start of the Games, head coach, David Gourlay has pledged to keep details of the events in which each bowler will play under wraps, to maximise tactical advantage. Lawn bowls is one of ten core sports at the Commonwealth Games for men and women and has been included in every Games programme, with the exception of Kingston, Jamaica in 1966. Scotland has a long tradition of success in lawn bowls winning a total of 28 medals including 13 Gold. Having missed out on the medal podium in Delhi, the sport appointed David Gourlay as head coach, who introduced a new approach to preparation. As a direct result Scotland’s bowlers returned to winning ways in 2012, winning six medals at the World Championships in Adelaide, three of them gold.

AT THE HEART OF YOUR COMMUNITY ACTIVE | MODERN | ACCESSIBLE TO ALL ANNUAL REPORT 2019 CHAIR’S REPORT As we celebrate another successful season, at individual, club, national and international level we are looking forward to implementing our new four-year strategy. I’m particularly excited about the main theme running through our strategy - of Empowering Women in Bowls. With that in mind, I’m delighted to welcome Arlene Ewing to the board. Arlene was an international swimmer and competed at all levels throughout a long and illustrious career and has vast experience of what it means to be a woman competing at all levels of a sport. We are looking forward to investigating ways of attracting more women into the sport. I would also like to welcome James Laws to the board. James has come on as Commercial Director with a brief to investigate opportunities for us to attract sponsorship and commercial partnerships. Craig McArthur and Scott Meechan have both stepped down from the board this year due to their increasing business commitments. We continue to have a skill-based board who are passionate about driving our sport forward and putting in place everything needed to allow this to happen. Declining membership is the key issue for our sport. However, it is not just Bowls Scotland that has this as an issue, in a large number of bowls countries and in a large number of Scottish sports the challenge is to get people more active, playing and enjoying a healthy lifestyle. There are bowls clubs that are bucking the trend by increasing membership and diversifying, and I would encourage all clubs to contact the development team to see what we can do to assist.
