Heritage Room Photograph Collections Heritage Room Photographs History The photographs in this collection fall into several categories. They were not originally in any particular order and seem to have been gathered haphazardly over the years. The earliest were probably created around 1975, the most recent date from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Many were created for displays and exhibits and are duplicated elsewhere in the archives. Others were created for student publications or for student. There is one box of antique photographs. When the Heritage Room collections were reorganized in 2011, it was decided that these materials should be gathered into a single Local History photograph collection. Provenance This collection was donated to the Archives by various departments of the College and College organizations. The timeline of these donations has not been determined, although most of them seem to have been accessioned sometime in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These photographs are the property of the Tarrant County College District. This collection is available to researchers by appointment. Please contact the TCCD Archives. Scope and Description This collection consist of 17 boxes of photographic images ranging in size from 3X4 snapshots to large format 11X14 mounted photographs. Many reflect campus life and the institutional history of the college, but a significant number are images of Fort Worth, Hurst, Bedford, and other Tarrant County communities. Some are antique photographs donated in the 1970s. Some of the images record the creation and early year of the Heritage Room. Most of the photographs are black and white, although there are some in color. Many of these photographs are duplicates of images from the Heritage Room Local History photographs collection. Some of the mounted photographs are student projects. One box contains collection Peter Feresten’s photographs of Fort Worth neighborhoods. Feresten was a noted regional photographer who taught photography on the Northeast Campus for many years. Several boxes contain images from the Local History Photograph Collection mounted and used for displays. Others were obviously made for College annuals and other publications.
