Abstract Detailed distribution pattern of colubrid snakes in Serbia is still inadequately described, despite the long historical study. In this paper, we provide accurate distribution of seven species, with previously published and newly accumulated faunistic records compiled. Comparative analysis of faunas among all Balkan countries showed that Serbian colubrid fauna is among the most distinct (together with faunas of Slovenia and Romania), due to small number of species. Zoogeographic analysis showed high chorotype diversity of Serbian colubrids: seven species belong to six chorotypes. South-eastern Serbia (Pčinja River valley) is characterized by the presence of all colubrid species inhabiting our country, and deserves the highest conservation status at the national level. -

UNDERGROUND MINING ENGINEERING 34 (2019) 59-76 UDK 62 UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE - FACULTY OF MINING AND GEOLOGY ISSN 03542904 Original scientific paper 2D GEOELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TOMOGRAPHY APPLICATION AT THE FORMER CITY WASTE DUMP “ADA HUJA” – ECO - GEOLOGICAL PROBLEM Branislav Sretenović1, Filip Arnaut1, Ivana Vasiljević1, Vesna Cvetkov1 Received: April 18, 2019 Accepted: June 3, 2019 Abstract: Rapid yearly technology development has enabled the possibility of renewing already acquisitioned data using new and improved software capabilities. The potential to gather 3D inversion results from 2D acquisitioned data is one of many new software options that were not available twenty years ago. Data obtained by ground penetrating radar (GPR) using 500 MHz and 300 MHz frequencies were used to confirm information attained by electrical resistivity tomography, hence the GPR survey was only conducted on a small portion of one profile line. Suitable location of the former communal waste site “Ada Huja” and the degree of possible environmental pollution are one of many reasons why it was crucial to reinterpret the 2D inversion data. Two decades after the initial scanning the data was used to solve the eco-geological problem which is a side effect of the decade long disposal and non-aiding of the communal waste dump. Keywords: 2D inversion; geoelectrical method; Wenner array; ecology; Ada Huja 1 INTRODUCTION The location of the former city waste dump “Ada Huja” was labeled as IBA (Important Bird Area), where refuge was found by some endangered species of birds like the black- headed seagull, big and small cormorant and the white-tailed eagle. Ada Huja, which is located only 4 km from the city center of Belgrade, was under the supervision from the former Federal executive council of SFRY and declared a communal waste dump in the year 1960. -

Possibilities of Producing Grape-Based Alcoholic Drinks from Newly Created Grapevine Varieties
Journal of Agricultural Sciences UDC: 663.5:634.8.076 Vol. 50, No 2, 2005 Original scientific paper Pages 183-191 POSSIBILITIES OF PRODUCING GRAPE-BASED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS FROM NEWLY CREATED GRAPEVINE VARIETIES N. Nikićević,1 S. Jović1 and A. Petrović1 Abstract: The paper is concerned with investigations on the possibility of producing grape-based alcoholic drinks from newly created grapevine varieties, such as Riesling Italian, Seedling 14660, Muscat Hamburg and Godominka. All chemical parameters for produced grape brandies, marc brandies and wine distillates complied with standards of quality as prescribed by the Regulations for quality of alcoholic drinks. Organoleptic evaluation proved that Seedling 14660 produced best scored wine distillate (17.85), Muscat Hamburg and Godominka gave best scored grape brandy (18.25) and Godominka yielded best scored marc brandy (18.40). Sensory properties of assessed brandies and wine distillate indicate that aroma and quality are gaining in intensity and level of improvement, starting from wine distillate to marc brandies. Also, intensive fruity-floral aroma reminding of lily-of-the-valley and iris fragrance is evident. Key words: grape brandy, newly created varieties, wine distillate, Riesling Italian, Seedling 14660, Muscat Hamburg, Godominka, sensory quality. I n t r o d u c t i o n Yugoslavia, being a fruit and grapevine-producing country, possesses raw material resources to produce strong alcoholic drinks from grape. Grape brandy is manufactured by distilling fermented crushed whole grape fruit (where stalks were removed) of cultivated grapevine Vitis vinifera. As distinguished from grape brandy, marc brandy has been manufactured from times immemorial in grapevine-producing countries as well as in all grapevine-growing regions in our country. -

The Government of Serbia formulated “National Physical Plan of the Republic of Serbia” and the City of Belgrade prepared a city master plan, “Master Plan of Belgrade to 2021” which was approved in September 2003 by the city council. Following the city master plan, Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage prepared “Master Plan of the Belgrade Sewerage System to 2021” for its sewerage development. The Government of Serbia requested the Japanese Government to extend Japanese ODA Loans for a sewerage project, Sewerage System Improvement Project for the City of Belgrade (the Project), which is to implement a part of the said sewerage master plan. -

Considering the importance of S. Petrović’s work for the botanical science of the 19th century, his herbarium has an important position from both a scientific and a museological standpoint. This herbarium collection has been conserved and inventoried. It was determined that it includes 648 herbarium sheet covers with 629 plant species, and the average age of the museum specimens is around 130 years. Key words: Sava Petrović, Herbarium, Natural History Museum, Belgrade INTRODUCTION The General Herbarium of the Balkan Peninsula at the Natural History Museum in Belgrade (BEO) includes collections of mosses, fungi, lichens and higher plants. One could say that he is destined, after making the earth uninhabitable, to destroy himself” Jean Baptiste Lamarck (Zoological Philosophy, 1809). Two centuries after Lamarck recorded these thoughts, it is as if we were only a step away from fulfilling his alarming prophecy. Today, unfortunately, it is possible to state that man’s influence over the environment has never been as intensive, extensive or far-reaching. The explosive, exponential growth of the world’s population, coupled with a rapid depletion of natural resources and incessant accumulation of various pollutants, provides a dramatic warning of the severity of the situation at the beginning of the third millennium.
