Each of these stores will also feature a Kroger Fuel Center. The Marketplace concept was first introduced in Texas in 2009. Three additional Kroger Marketplace stores opened last year in Katy, North Richland Hills and in Bartonville, Texas. NewQuest welcomes several new Kroger Marketplace stores this year, beginning with Fairfield Marketplace, which opened in January 2016. Three more Marketplace stores are slated to open by the end of the year. In addition, the first NewQuest developed store in Louisiana will also open in 2016.
