Coronavirus crisis The coronavirus has spread since January 2020 and has subsequently led to a serious economic crisis, the specific effects of which on the economy, individual markets and sectors cannot currently be reliably estimated yet due to the high degree of uncertainty. In light of this, the Management Company of the fund, following discussions with the major service providers, is satisfied that the measures taken and the business continuity plans put in place will curb the currently foreseeable or ongoing operational risks and will ensure that the activities of the fund are not disrupted. The outbreak and the evolution of the global spread of the virus have, however, led to a situation whereby the possi- ble effects in 2020 are fraught with uncertainty and cannot be conclusively assessed at the time of preparing this report. The Management Company is taking all measures deemed appropriate to protect investor interests to the greatest possible extent. 2 Semiannual report DWS Multi Asset PIR Fund DWS MULTI ASSET PIR FUND Performance of unit classes (in euro) Unit class ISIN 6 months Class LC LU1631464101 -6.7% Class FC LU1631464952 -6.4% Class PFC LU1631464879 -7.2% “BVI method” performance, i.e., excluding the initial sales charge. Italian Research Milan, 21 September 2020 Performance (+). The Italian equity market (prices as at 17th September 2020) has decreased 1.0% in the last month and is down 15.8% YTD. The FTSE Italy Mid-Cap index (+1.6%) has outperformed the main index by 2.6% (+2.7% YTD on a relative basis), while the FTSE Italy Small Caps index (-0.4%) has performed +0.6% better in the last month while it is broadly in line with the main index in relative terms since the beginning of 2020. Looking at mid/small cap performances across Europe, the MSCI Europe Small Caps index has risen 1.2% in the last month, performing almost in line with Italian mid caps. Estimates (=). In light of the significant economic implications of the coronavirus outbreak, since the beginning of the year we have significantly cut our 2020 EPS estimates (-52.2%), while we have implemented a milder revision on 2021, assuming a partial recovery. Our overall estimate revision for mid-caps (-48.5% YTD) has been broadly in line with large caps, while our revision for small caps has been greater (-82.4% YTD). In the last month, we have left our mid and small cap estimates broadly unchanged (-0.3% and -1.2% on 2021 EPS, respectively). Valuations (+). If we compare YTD performance to the change in FY21 estimates over the same period, we can see that the YTD fall in market prices is much more limited than the cut to our FY21 estimates, implying a significant re- rating. Specifically, FTSE MIB stocks recorded a 17% re-rating YTD, while the figures for mid-caps and small caps are 14.5% and 22.7% respectively.

  • PIR MONITOR Market Strategy | Quarterly Report
PIR MONITOR Market Strategy | Quarterly Report PIR Equita Research Team | [email protected] PIR MONITOR MARKET STRATEGY Analyst: Equita Research Team | [email protected] Quarterly report – September 2020 EQUITY RESEARCH CONSERVATIVE APPROACH STILL WEIGHING ON THE NEW PIR FLOWS Italy Traditional PIR funds (3.0) returned to slightly positive net inflows in 2Q20 (€+58.7mn) vs. outflows in 1Q20 and 4Q19, thus bringing the balance YTD to about € -200mn. However, net inflows are still lacklustre because of a very conservative approach in investment decisions by retail customers due to the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, in our opinion. We expect a return to positive net inflows for the traditional PIRs in the second half of the year when the distribution networks will once again intensify their commercial efforts on the product, as the new PIR (3.0) system, in force since January 2020, is effective for its relaunch. As for the new Alternative PIRs, the August decree (pending conversion into law) has strengthened the appeal of the instrument, raising the annual tax-free investment threshold per person from € 150k to € 300k per year. Given the magnitude of inflows expected from the new Alternative PIRs and the focus on SMEs (>70% of AUM not in FTSE MIB and FTSE MID stocks), we think it is crucial for the Government to continue to support the listing of SMEs and the access to the Capital Market, in order to better match supply and demand. ◼ Net outflows in PIR funds (3.0) € -175.5mn in 1H20 According to the official data of Assogestioni in 2Q20 the PIR funds recorded positive inflows worth € +58.7mn vs.
