53rd Street Express The 53rd Street Express shuttle runs between Harper Court and various points around campus. The shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The route starts at Harper Court, arriving and departing at the top (0:00) and bottom (0:30) of the hour. The shuttle stops only at the designated stops and does not pick up or drop off passengers at intersections. To ride the shuttle passengers should tap a valid UChicago or University of Chicago Medicine ID. Please visit the ID & Privileges website at ipo.uchicago.edu for a listing of valid IDs.

Once service for the 53rd Street Express shuttle ends at 6 p.m., the East Route of the NightRide service travels east on 53rd Street and can be picked up at the southeast corner of 53rd Street and Lake Park Avenue. Check the NightRide section in this brochure for more specifics about this service.

WINTER STREET PARKING AND SNOW EMERGENCIES From December 1 to April 1, the city of Chicago’s winter overnight parking ban covers various arterial streets throughout the city. No vehicles can be parked on designated streets from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. during this period. On campus, this ban affects parking along the Midway Plaisance from Cottage Grove Avenue to Dorchester Avenue. For more information, visit cityofchicago.org.
