The discovery focused on environ- ment as its field of action where Scouts were brought to Bolinao town to observe and explore bay areas currently being forested and reforested with mangroves. They also visited the Provincial Mangrove Information Centre and Nursery and were taught all about mangroves, including practical applications of how to plant mangroves, basic care and actual cleaning. SW Award Discovery is the first stage in the process of the SW Award Programme. It gives Scouts and non-Scouts the opportunity to explore and discover issues faced by local communities.
