ITALY FOR FOODIES TOUR Wine, Food and Traditions 10 Days DAY 1/Morning Venice Walking Tour The itinerary starts from the heart of the city, the pinnacle of its authentic beauty and elegance, the wonderful St. Mark Square, where you will admire the majestic buildings that surround it: the Doge’s Palace, the Bell Tower, the Clock Tower and St. Mark’s Basilica, a real architectural jewel in the Venetian-byzantine style. Your walking tour will continue through the Mercerie until the place where Marco Polo’s house once stood. With this tour, you will enjoy the fascinating atmosphere of the city, which is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world! DAY 1/Late Afternoon Venice Food Tour One of the best ways to understand the history and traditions of Venice is through its culinary specialties and, with this particular tour you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Venetian lifestyle! With your guide, you will explore narrow alleyways of the historical centre of Venice, visit the Rialto Market, which has been the commercial heart of the city for more than 1000 years, and then head towards the oldest bacaro, once frequented by a certain Casanova, until arriving at Cannaregio, an ancient popular neighbourhood. During this walk, you will make several stops, tasting many specialties of Venetian cuisine: the typical cicheti, small fish or meat samples served on bread, the sarde in saor, fish rich in flavor cooked in sweet sauce, the fritole, a traditional Carnival dessert, the francobolli, small sandwich with cotechino, small meatballs and tiramisù ice cream…not forgetting a good glass of local wine and the legendary Spritz! DAY 2/Morning From Venice to Florence with stop for Parmesan tasting experience An interesting and informative stop in a dairy located in Bologna, and which overlooks the vast plains of its countryside. A small factory where Parmesan, the king of cheeses, is produced. You will observe the various stages of the processing of the most famous Italian cheese and, at the end, you will enjoy a selection of different maturities of Parmesan, combined with Mortadella Bolognese IGP, mustards, jams and the traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. DAY 2/Late Afternoon Twilight Orientation Florence Tour Enjoy a guided Florence orientation walking tour at twilight, for an overview of the most important monuments of the city: Ponte Vecchio, the oldest Florentine bridge, the elegant Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio, and the magnificent Piazza San Giovanni where you will admire Brunelleschi’s famous Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni…you will be stunned by the beauty! DAY 3/Morning The Chiantishire: wine and food experience with Tuscan cooking class A tour in the heart of the most beautiful and picturesque Tuscan countryside: the Chiantishire…the gentle hills, and a succession of olive groves, vineyards, and cypress trees, that make this such a famous places around the world. The tour includes a stop at one of the most characteristic villages of the area to take in the local atmosphere. You will then go to an historic castle where you will enjoy a guided tour of the vineyards and cellars and then prepare a typical Tuscan menu, led by an expert cook: crostini, homemade pasta and other delicious dishes chosen according to season of the produce. DAY 8/Morning Mozzarella-making experience You will have an entertaining demonstration of the mozzarella braid. Participating Guests will be equipped with hats and aprons and invited to the demonstration of the mozzarella. A fun activity that suits everyone. Obviously includes tasting! DAY 8/Afternoon Pizza-making experience A real pizza class! Every guest will receive a hat and apron, then, together with our pizza chef, they will learn how to prepare the pizza dough with their own hands, using creativity to top it, bake it and finally taste their masterpieces. DAY 9 The Amalfi Coast with Limoncello tasting experience All those who are in Italy should certainly not miss the pleasure of visiting the Amalfi Coast...with private car and driver, you will have the opportunity to admire the incredible beauty of the landscape, the artistic and architectural heritage of the monuments, the folklore of ancient traditions and the breath-taking views; all of which make this place an unforgettable must! Free time for lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy a Limoncello tasting experience in an old distillery where you will see how Limoncello is made. Day 10/Morning Naples, the city of the sun Private transfer from your hotel in the Amalfi Coast to Naples where you will meet your fully licensed tour guide and you will start the visit of Naples “the City of the Sun”, and of the many wonders of this fabulous city, which will differ in many respects from those you will have already visited during your Italian holiday. You will admire the crowded and narrow streets of the old town; Spaccanapoli, the most famous street that divides the city into two parts; San Gregorio Armeno, the street of the Neapolitan nativity scene makers; Piazza del Plebiscito, the largest and most representative town square, finishing at the Duomo of San Gennaro. At the end of the tour, you will make a stop to appreciate one of the best-known Italian foods in the world: the pizza! And, finally, a taste of the sweet and sublime Neapolitan Baba. Day 10/Afternoon From Naples to Rome.
