Hgame to the next level – just ask Aaron Mullet. The Eastern Ranges defender was told last season his attack on the ball wasn’t hard enough. While the assessment stung, Mullet decided the best way to address his perceived deficiency was to work like never before to overcome it. And that’s exactly what the Vermont under-16 best and fairest winner did, with the results evident in this year’s practice matches and the Ranges’ TAC Cup season opener against Gold Coast at Carrara. Ranges coach Shane Watson admitted pre-season he was unsure where Mullet fitted into his team’s plans, saying while Mullet always had “reasonable wraps” on him, he hadn’t impressed with the Ranges’ under-16s last year and was inconspicuous in early pre-season training.
