IOTA ADVISORS’ UPDATE As another school year comes to an end we are pleased to report this has been another banner year for IOTA. We end the year with 109 brothers. The chapter recently won seven of the eight chapter awards at DU’s Greek Awards Ceremony. Christopher Nalen, our immediate Past President, was honored as DU’s best fraternity president, a well-deserved honor and freshman Alex Frith was recognized as Best New Brother. With encouragement and guidance from Gregg Grauberger, our Faculty Advisor, our GPA was significantly improved winter quarter. Our new brothers from winter quarter had an average GPA of 3.6, WOW! All 39 of the men that joined IOTA this year have remained members. Our Recruitment Committee, Brotherhood Development Director, Provost and advisor Scott Adams did a great job. We thank the outgoing and incoming officers and chairmen for their efforts. We wish Jake Lotwin our out going House Director all the best. We welcome Cole Caulkins who will be our house director next school year. I would also like to personally thank my fellow advisors and house corporation members for their efforts throughout the school year. A special thanks goes to ZBT staff liaison Evan Skloot for his mentoring. We also thank Lauren Utley and the members of DU’s FSL Office for their guidance and support. As always a big thanks to Don Reisfeld our An Iota's Worth publisher. Also a shout out to Kyle Leigh for his efforts on our website. It was great seeing so many alumni at the Frozen Four in Chicago. It was fun celebrating the 10th anniversary of our re-chartering this past February and we look forward to a big event honoring the 100th anniversary of Iota’s founding at DU in 2020. It is truly great to be a ZBT at DU! C, F & S, Steve Ehrlich Chapter and House Corporation Advisor Gary Berz, Advisor and House Corp., Chris Fettig, House Corp. This is a question I often ask our brothers when they are struggling with decisions to make during the recruitment process. The answer is simple: it’s both. Fraternity can make a good man better. It can open opportunities for an individual to gain confidence, learn valuable leadership skills, and grow as a con- tributor to society. Not every man who “walks through our doors” is going to be the best at every- thing. Our job as ZBTs is to help our brothers become the best versions of themselves. Denver downs Notre Dame 6-1 in the semi-finals at the United Center. BREAKING: DENVER PIONEERS Advance by Gary Wolfson The Denver Pioneers Hockey squad put on a clinic Thursday night while crushing the (overmatched) Fighting Irish of Notre Dame 6-1 at the iconic United Center in Chicago. Denver dominated the hapless Irish in all phases of the game as they skat- ed freely throughout dictating play from the outset. Notre Dame had a brief chance to score and stop the Pioneers momentum while down only 2-0 but was quickly vanquished by some heady play at the hands of the vaunted Denver defense. After quashing that effort Denver raced to the 3-0 lead and simply never looked back. The heavily favored Pioneers will face Minnesota Duluth for the NCAA championship on Saturday night in Chicago. The team will be represented in the stands by a large contingent of former Zeta Beta Tau fraternity mem- bers once again on Saturday after having been credited with inspiring the Denver triumph in the semi finals. “These guys are legendary and I’m not sure we could have gotten here without them” quelled Pioneers coach Jim Montgomery as the final horn sounded.
