1 AMERICA AT THE TIPPING POINT Gary Frazier With Jennifer Rast and Helen Hosier 2 This book is dedicated: -To the faithful followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, -To every American who has and is standing for what is right, -To my children and grandchildren who are in peril because of decisions being made that will affect their lives long after I am gone. 3 Acknowledgements I would like to thank Jennifer Rast and Helen Hosier for their tireless efforts in helping research this book. Jennifer worked countless hours researching topics and sharing her thoughts often at the expense of her own health. In addition Helen gave her usual ―all for the Kingdom‖ tirelessly helping bring all my thoughts together. In addition, I dare not fail to mention retired Congressman William E. Dannemeyer of California whose incredible insights in the 1980‘s stirred my mind and soul. His insightful book, A Shadow in the Land: Homosexuality in America seems today to be a prophetic word from the past. While I may not agree with the Congressman on every issue, his courage challenges me and I thank God for his service to America. 4 Contents Introduction Chapter One: A Country Meant for Greatness ........................................................................................................................ In my past books I have written about the indicators present in our world pointing out we are living in the end times and that Christ Jesus is coming again very, very soon. However, as a history buff and one who watches trends and events, I see what has and is happening in America and the path it appears we have chosen and frankly, I find myself greatly alarmed. Were it not for my faith, hope and trust in the sovereignty of God and my understanding of His mercy and compassion, and that He is ultimately in control, I would be frightened. For this reason I feel compelled to address these issues because I see America at a tipping point and the Word of God commands as Christians we are to stand in the gap and sound the warning. Allow me to put you, the reader, on notice. I am not a Republican nor am I a Democrat. To me elections have and always will be about moral choices, never the economy. My premise is if we make wise and sound moral choices based on God‘s principles the economy will take care of itself. This may sound a little simplistic but I believe it is true. That said this is not a feel good, warm fuzzy message. Rather it is the sounding of the alarm calling all Americans to the battle to save this great country as we slip ever so quickly toward the abyss. The apathy, indifference, disregard, misinformation...the list could get long...of what has taken place in recent years gives cause for concern. The idea of individual freedom, very little government interference, and the quest for prosperity; the dreams and aspirations to be free from tyranny that brought this country into existence, seemingly are being tossed aside like rubbage. Why is this? Is it because our schools have slowly been transformed into institutions of cultural change instead of halls of learning how to read, write, work math problems, study history and geography and seek to learn, understand and apply the principles of citizenship? Is the emphasis no longer on these facts? What do students know about the sacrifices and dreams of our Founding Fathers, the Presidents who have led this great nation, the many times Americans have fought and died for the very freedoms we take for granted today? How much of this great American story do they truly know and comprehend? America is at a Tipping Point in the classroom! A look at this is included in this book. Additionally, I will share my grave concern with regard to the all-out war on the faith and values held dear by millions of followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Never has there been so much rhetoric by so many about tolerance with so little being exhibited. The Constitution of this great country provides for the freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. America is at a Tipping Point with regard to our freedom to worship as believers in and followers of Christ and the battle rages daily in the courts across this land. Can any nation survive who attempts to live in a sterile environment excluding the God who created the world and all that is within? Civilized nations have always treasured and protected life understanding the value of this most basic and precious gift. Pagan nations around the globe have sacrificed their children upon the altar to their pagan deities, yet since 1973 more than 50 million of our most precious have been murdered. How can this take place we ask? The answer is quite 6 simple really, change the way people look at conception and dehumanize the child! I am driven to keep this debate alive in our hearts and minds. As an American in his sixties I never dreamed I would turn on the tube and see homosexuals, lesbians and other perversions marching in our streets demanding so-called equal rights! Yet today we are being force fed a steady diet of these various forms of perversion, all the while being told we must accept this as normal. God forbid! As I write these words America is embroiled in a controversy over euthanasia and the ―right to die‖. Thinking people have long known the logical conclusion of abortion is euthanasia. The words we are hearing daily are ―quality of life‖ and, as the economy in America tanks, there are those who are telling us hard choices will have to be made since health care costs are so high and funds so limited. Is America prepared for this kind of choosing who will live and who will die? We have seen this before in a place called Nazi Germany. Greed, loss of civility, a self perpetuating governmental bureaucracy and a Supreme Court where a small group of elitists rule over the masses, is a huge shift away from what our founders had in mind when they laid it all on the line by signing the Declaration of Independence and later the Constitution. These are issues I am compelled to address. By the time this book is published many changes will have already taken place in our nation (mostly bad) and many others will be under consideration (also mostly bad). The mainstream media has made a decision to stop reporting the news and produce it instead with their bias; all the while making sure the average American is kept in the dark without any real answers to the tough questions of our day. In fact, and I don‘t like saying this, but the world view of the majority of Americans is what can you do for me? It is a self-centered, take-all-attitude that looks to the government to supply their needs. People seemingly are willing to give up all their rights to be ―taken care of.‖ Is this what the American people really want? As one popular country song says, ―God is great, beer is good and people are crazy‖! It is time we who are being called crazy, terrorist and a litany of other not so accurate names stand up and speak out. America is at a Tipping Point that could spell our demise! If we do not get involved, if we do not sound the alarm we will lose this great land. What are we to do? You‘ve heard it before; GET INVOLVED! Let your voice be heard locally and nationally. Be vocal about the dire need for Term Limits for all politicians. If eight years is good enough for the President it is good enough for everyone else! We must return these elected people to temporary servants of We the People and stop this self-perpetuating thievery! If not me, if not you, then who, if not now, when? Gary D. Frazier Arlington, Texas 7 Chapter One A COUNTRY MEANT FOR GREATNESS We shall nobly save or meanly lose this last best hope of earth. President Abraham Lincoln (A letter to Congress in December 1862, shortly after he issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation.) During an evening performance of ―The Tonight Show,‖ Comedian Jay Leno asked the audience if anyone could name just one of the Ten Commandments – a task most children who have attended Sunday school even briefly should be able to do. A member of the audience proudly, but incorrectly, responded, ―God helps those who help themselves.‖ So typical of our society today, this individual not only had no idea what the Ten Commandments were, the only religious sounding phrase they could quote from memory was about as far from any kind of commandment as you can get, and isn‘t found in the Bible.
