Media Release Date: 15/08/2008 Communiqué aux médias No. 106 Medien-Mitteilung UEFA Super Cup teams announce media days Timings for pre-match media activities in Monaco also confirmed The champions of Europe, Manchester United FC, and the UEFA Cup holders FC Zenit St. Petersburg will meet at the Stade Louis II in Monaco on Friday 29 August, kicking-off at 20:45, with the 2008 UEFA Super Cup at stake. Prior to the event, the two clubs will stage Media Open Days, when the international media will have the opportunity to interview the coaching and playing staff of both teams. Manchester United FC will hold their open day on Friday 22 August at the Trafford Training Centre in Carrington. There will be a training session, open for 15 minutes, starting at 10:00. A press conference with Sir Alex Ferguson will then take place at 12:00. Another press conference with players (Michael Carrick, Ryan Giggs, Owen Hargreaves, Wayne Rooney and Edwin van der Sar) will then take place at 13:30 at the same location. Media representatives are kindly asked to inform of their presence by emailing the club’s press officer Diana Law ([email protected]). FC Zenit St. Petersburg will open their doors on the same day, Friday 22 August, at the Udelnaya training centre. The training session will start at 11:00 and will be followed by a press conference with Dick Advocaat. There will then be mixed zone activities with all players. Media representatives are kindly asked to inform of their presence by emailing the club’s press officer Alexey Blinov ([email protected]). As for the teams’ schedules in Monaco, the following arrangements have been made: Pre-match press conferences will be staged on Thursday 28 August at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, the setting for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup draws. • FC Zenit St. Petersburg, represented by Dick Advocaat and a player, at 12:00. • Manchester United FC, represented by Sir Alex Ferguson and Gary Neville, at 14:30. Training sessions at the Stade Louis II will also take place on the evening of Thursday 28 August: • FC Zenit St.Petersburg from 18:45 to 19:45 – open to media for the first 15 minutes. • Manchester United FC from 20:00 to 21:00 – open to media for the first 15 minutes. Only media who have successfully applied to UEFA for accreditation for the Super Cup match may attend the training sessions whereas the press conferences at the Grimaldi Forum will also be open to media accredited for the club competition draws.
