Welcome to issue VII of Cosmic Masque. Yes it’s hot on the heels of issue VI—kind of like the old saying about buses, you wait ages for one and then two come along right afer each other. This gets Cosmic Masque onto its new schedule, with three issues throughout 2019, in March, June and September, with the Annual due De- cember/January. Celestal Toyroom contnues monthly of course. In this fourth episode, we fnally meet the Ravenous, the stuf of Time Lord night- mares who feast on the regeneratve life energy of Time Lords themselves. They have a horrifc sound design full of screams and squeals, and would be enough of a threat themselves if it wasn’t for the Elev- en being the one to drag the Doctor and friends into the fray when the Eleven asks to be saved.

In many ways, what is most terrifying is when the Doctor is truly terrifed, vulnera- ble and not in control on the situaton like he usually is. Add to that the fact that the criminal Eleven, of all people, is even more scared, the threat is heightened even fur- ther.

Seizure is not as long as the frst three epi- sodes – forming a simpler, more straightorward tale – although this is only boxset number two, and as we are only halfway through the Ravenous arc, forty- fve minutes is a good length to whet the appette for the horrors and mysteries to come.
