2016 Super Dirtcar Series Schedule
2016 Super DIRTcar Series schedule By MIKE MALLETT Over the weekend the World Racing Group and DIRTcar Northeast held its annual promoters meetings. During those meetings the 2016 Super DIRTcar Series tentative schedule was released and then later in the day released to the public at the National Parts Peddler trade show. While there weren’t many surprises on the schedule a few should pique the interest of racers and fans alike. The series returns to the Williams Grove Speedway on June 22 after not competing at the facility since 2006. The last time the tour visited the track the race was dominated by Heinke-Baldwin Racing driver Jimmy Phelps. The series also returns to Utica-Rome Speedway as part of a special week in July for both the Empire Super Sprints and the Super DIRTcar Series. The series pairs up with ESS for two shows during the week, one at Canandaigua Motorsports Park on June 30 and then at Utica-Rome on July 3. The Last Call at the Port Weekend and the Dual at the Demon have been combined into one weekend in mid-September on the 16 and 17. Brewerton Speedway host the series on Friday night before drivers head west on the New York State Thruway to Weedsport to compete on Saturday. The World Finals has also moved up a week coming in late October on the 27-29 rather than early in November. Here is a complete look at the TENTATIVE schedule for the Super DIRTcar Series big-block Modifieds. Feb 17 – Wed – Volusia Speedway Park (DIRTcar Nationals) Feb 18 – Thu – Volusia Speedway Park (DIRTcar Nationals) Feb 19 – Fri – Volusia Speedway -

Third Place Run for Mitch Brown in Patriot Sprint Tour Opener at Merrittville
THIRD PLACE RUN FOR MITCH BROWN IN PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR OPENER AT MERRITTVILLE Podium Finish Third In Last Three Events for Brantford Racer - April 23, 2016 Mitch Brown chased Jason Barney of Brewerton, NY and Jared Zimbardi of Bradford, PA to the checkered flag at Merrittville Speedway Saturday night in the season opener of the Patriot Sprint Tour's 2016 season. The Brantford competitor's results marked the third time in as many outings this season that he has placed among the top three finishers in Sprint Car feature races. His earlier podium appearances came at Lancaster Speedway in South Carolina and Limaland Motor Speedway in Ohio. (NOTE: He also finished third in the PST opener last season at Merrittville with Barney also taking that win). In Saturday's event, Barney -who started on the outside of the front row -grabbed the lead from pole sitter Matt Tanner of Stephentown, NY on lap 4 of the 25-lap A-Main and Tanner was overtaken by 3rd-place starter Steve Poirier of St. Mathieu De Beloeil, QC three laps later. But Brown, the 2015 Southern Ontario Sprints champion, overtook the 2015 Empire Super Sprints Champion for the runner-up spot on lap 11. Brown, who started 8th and Zimbardi, who had started 5th but slipped back in the early laps, raced side by side over the Mitch Brown (10) and Jared Zimbardi (35) raced side by side for second place in A-Main action April final half of the race with the defending 23rd at Merrittville Speedway in the season opener of the Patriot Sprint Tour's 2016 season. -
Download Season Review Here
Welcome to the year-end edition of CHASIN' the 10's Racing for 2018... The 2018 Sprint Car racing season has come and gone and for Mitch and Jake Brown it was a season like no other. Before the season began the family racing team had chosen not to limit their activities to the pursuit of a track or series championship but elected instead to compete at a few new venues and some old favorites south of the border and test their mettle against some of the finest 360 Sprint Car competitors from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, New York and Pennsylvania with an occasional return to the Southern Ontario circuit where they had competed successfully since Mitch broke into the winged open-wheel sport back in 2010 and Jake in first the 602 Crate Division before moving up to the 360s in 2016. Just how that decision worked out is highlighted in this edition of Chasin' the 10s Racing- a race by race recap of the 2018 season. A few things are certain about this past season... the team logged a lot of miles/kilometers and gained a lot of experience on the short track scene and received a warm welcome by track promoters, fellow competitors and race fans wherever they appeared. What their plans are for 2019 is still to be determined but once they've had a chance to evaluate how 2018 turned out, you can bet they will be back on the Sprint Car trail racing as much if not more than they did this past season. As we put the final touches on this year-end edition of our team newsletter we extend our SINCERE THANKS to Dale Calnan of Image Factor Media and Rod Henderson of Canadianracer.com along with Curtis Berleue Photography and J&T Photos for some of the photos appearing in this yearend publication as well as a tip of the hat to Greg Calnan of Image Factor Media for the fine design and updating of the team's web site www.mitch brownracing.com. -
CHASIN the 10S RACING January February 2013
January - February The Official Newsletter of Mitch Brown Racing 2013 Edition 2013 SEASON ALREADY UNDERWAY FOR SOME CANADIAN RACERS The 2013 motorsports season here in Southern Ontario is still, for the most part, eight to ten weeks away depending on what type of racing you follow and what opening dates local tracks have posted on their websites. But hundreds of race fans and some racers from here north of the 49 th parallel have already received their first “fix” of racing excitement by traveling south to such warmer climes as Florida, Arizona and yes even Nevada beginning in February. For most, Florida was the chosen destination especially those weeks leading up to and including Speed Weeks in the Daytona Beach area where events in NASCAR’s three premier divisions –Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck series races got underway. There was definitely a lot of buzz surrounding the events at Daytona International Speedway where NASCAR’s Generation 6 car was unveiled. And certainly Danica Patrick’s pole setting run in qualifying gave North America’s most popular motorsports association a much needed boost in media coverage. Unfortunately the devastating crash in the Saturday Nationwide race involving 13 cars that led to injuries to 28 spectators was the most horrifying and questionable incident of the weekend and perhaps NASCAR’s recent history. Despite the hype surrounding events at DIS, the short tracks in and around Daytona plus the Florida Gulf Coast provided what a lot of race fans from the north were craving for …real home style racing where the action is fast, exciting and for the most part “unstaged”…no competition yellows, no mysterious debris on the track, not a lot of single file racing …just peddle to the metal scrambles in the heats and 20 to 30 lap feature events.
