If you want to know why so many reader love Brian Michael Bendis, get this. The Avengers Prime story was one of my favorites, and this isn't the Avengers: Heroic Age time I've read it. In fact, I think I liked it even better the second time around. It's the one where Tony, Thor, and Steve end up getting thrown into Hela's dark version of the nine realms. The enemy is defeated with lots of humor, and a good dose of bro-hugs. Good stuff. The If you want an introduction to a good set of Avengers' stories, get this. The second story is The Avengers: Heroic Age, Volume 1is all about Kang and his timey wimey Avengers: Heroic Age. Normally, I hate time- travel stories, but this one gets a pass. First, because we get a glimpse of Avengers: Heroic Age Avengers' children. And, second, because there's a lot of Spiderman and his Amazing Quips. Having said that, I think it's the weakest of the bunch. Still very goodbut not my favorite. Finishing this collection out is The New Avengers, Volume 1. Strange is a main player in this one, so you know Avengers: Heroic Age gotta be good, right? Hellstrom, Dr. Voodoo, and Stephen Strange team- up with the New Avengers there Avengers: Heroic Age two Avengers Avengers: Heroic Age in Avengers: Heroic Age one to battle a shitload of demons attacking the city. Did you read what I just wrote? I don't need to explain the awesomeness of that story to you, do I? I didn't think so. While all of the individual stories may not be 5 star material, this particular volume combines them in a 5 star way. Make sense? Read it if you get the chance. View all 12 comments. I already the New Avengers issues, so I won't really be talking about them here. This is all set immediately after Siegeso there's a lot Avengers: Heroic Age recent history to keep in mind. Civil WarSteve Rogers dying, Steve coming back to life, Tony making enemies and influencing people, As This book collects issues from three different series, and this is not the first time these issues have been collected. Lots of stuff, really. This was a concerted effort to tie up all the loose ends from everything that went before and move into somewhat lighter, brighter stories. That mostly comes into play in Avengers Prime, which can basically be summed up as the Big Three patching things up. It's something that needed to happen before their stories could really move on, and it's handled quite well. After all, they love and respect each other too much to stay angry at each other forever. Of course, when Avengers need to explore their feelings, they don't go to a therapist. They get pulled into a high fantasy mystical realm to battle elves, dragons, and Hela herself. As you do. It adds a lot of action to a story that's really about friendship in forgiveness, in a lot of ways, Avengers: Heroic Age it makes it a lot more fun to read. The Avengers issues are a much more standard story. There's time travel and Kang and future Avengers and stuff like that. Nothing terribly exciting about the plot, to me. The execution was pretty good, though. As an Avengers team, this is a pretty good cast, and they work well together. Bendis also got to put Avengers: Heroic Age gift for dialog to good use more than a few times, something that can brighten up even the most rehashed superhero story. This series had my least favorite art in the book, though. I like the idea of the Heroic Age stuff, because if you just do Grim and Gritty for too long, it becomes lifeless. And God knows Marvel Avengers: Heroic Age a breather after Dark Reign. May 18, Jesse A rated it really liked it Shelves: graphic- novelslibrary-it-upneed-to-purchase. Avengers: Heroic Age Avengers Prime was Avengers: Heroic Age best part but The regular Avengers volume was good with the New Avengers part being the weakest but still entertaining. First is the Avengers Avengers: Heroic Age mini-series, where Iron Man, Thor, and Steve Rogers the former Captain America are transported to another dimention and have to work together to get back home. This should have been a pretty big deal - these guys have been pretty piss Swing and a miss, Bendis. This should have been a pretty big deal - these guys have been pretty pissed off at each other Avengers: Heroic Age the past few years, and even though this is the momment where they Avengers: Heroic Age patch up their differences, not much really happens. The Avengers: The Heroic Age by Brian Michael Bendis The Heroic Age takes place after the devastating events of Siegewritten to bring characters into less dramatic and universe changing events, along with fewer major crossovers.
