The list does not include companies that manufacture only products that are required by law to be tested on animals (e.g., pharmaceuticals and garden chemicals). Although PETA is opposed to all animal testing, our quarrel in those instances is less with the individual companies and more with the regulatory agencies that require animal testing. Nonetheless, it is important to let companies know that it is their responsibility to convince the regulatory agencies that there are better ways to determine product safety. Auch Produkte für unsere tierischen Mitbewohner, wie Tiernahrung oder Hundeshampoo, sind hier zu finden. Laut der EU-Kosmetikverordnung sind Tierversuche für Kosmetikprodukte eigentlich nicht zulässig – eigentlich. Denn es gibt Ausnahmen, wie Tests für die europäische Chemikalienverordnung REACH oder den Export nach China. In China sind Tierversuche für Kosmetika und andere Produkte häufig vorgeschrieben. Unternehmen, die sich auf unserer Liste „PETA Approved“ befinden, umgehen solche Tierversuche: Sie haben sich bewusst dafür entschieden, Produkte herzustellen, ohne dass Tiere dafür in Experimenten leiden müssen. The list includes companies that make cosmetics, personal-care products, household-cleaning products, and other common household products. In the U.S., no law requires that these types of products be tested on animals, and companies can choose not to sell their products in countries such as China, where tests on animals are required for cosmetics and other products. Companies on this list should be supported for their commitment to manufacturing products without harming any animals. Companies that aren t on this list should be boycotted until they implement a policy that prohibits animal testing. All companies that are included on PETA s cruelty-free list have signed PETA s statement of assurance verifying that they and their ingredient suppliers do not conduct, commission, pay, for or allow any tests on animals for ingredients, formulations, or finished products anywhere in the world and will not do so in the future. The list does not include companies that manufacture only products that are required by law to be tested on animals (e.g., pharmaceuticals and garden chemicals).
