Restoration Kenny Kraemer 986-0274 Italian American Club of Palm Coast Message from the President Members August seems to have flown by! To recap some of the fun we had this month, I’ll start with our Luau dinner dance on the 11th. Chef Mike and Sous Chef Lou prepared a delicious meal, our servers and bartenders did their usual terrific job and Tim Rippey provided beautiful music. Many thanks to our awesome Social ladies and all the volunteers that made this and all our dances such a night to remember! Tickets for September’s dinner dance, Prohibition, are selling now. You won’t want to miss it! Speaking of awesome volunteers, our August Pub Night with Tito was a huge success! Our entire ballroom was reserved BEFORE we opened the doors Saturday night and we found ourselves having to turn people away. We’ve worked out some bugs to make the lines shorter and everything went very smoothly. We had a fun; happy crowd and I can’t thank our volunteers enough for helping to make it a great event! Tito will be back on October 27th, our annual Halloween Pub Night, so mark your calendar and watch for reservation sales to being in a few weeks. On September 22nd, we have the always popular Soul Fire back on stage! Call the office 9am – 3pm to reserve your favorite table. If you don’t plan to attend, maybe you would consider being a volunteer? Contact our social ladies or the office for more information on how you can get involved. Tuesdays have picked up but we still want to see more of you. If you haven’t witnessed out karaoke talent, you don’t know what you’re missing! In September, due to two Tuesday nights of Texas Hold’em tournaments, we won’t have line dancing but Jenny will be here on the 4th and 25th. See our calendar on the last page of this newsletter for specific dates. Looking ahead, we are seeking to line up all our local talent for our January dinner dance. Sign up in the office or let our social ladies know you’ll showing off your skills! As I mention every month, I love this club and I am so proud to be your president. I have met so many wonderful people here and look forward to being here on Tuesday and Friday nights to spend time with my IA family. Your hard-working board of directors has really stepped up to keep our club running smoothly and their support means so much to me. Prayers go out to our members who have suffered illness and loss. Please, if you know a member who is hospitalized, ill or has had a loss, let us know so we can acknowledge them. Our Sunday Worship during July and August begins at 9:30 am We return to our regularly scheduled worship schedule on Sunday September 10 at 11:00am. During July and August the church office is open (usually) Tues and Wed 9-12. In September, the church office will (usually) be open Monday through Thursday, 9-2. Members and Friends First Presbyterian Church, Medina Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Grace to you, and peace! I greet you with the love of Christ and with great thanksgiving for the blessing of being called to serve with you, here at First Presbyterian Church, Medina. It has been wonderful serving as Summer pulpit supply over that last two months. My wife Sherrie and I, and our three youngest children, Gracie Mae (10 years old), Kaleela Ayanna (17 years old), and Adelia Rose (18 years old), have been welcomed warmly by the Congregation this Summer. As you read this letter, we will have settled into our life in Medina, living in the Manse at 300 Park Avenue, and getting acquainted in the community. Let me share some of my journey on my way to Medina First Presbyterian. After earlier work as a college and university teacher, physician, and sheet metal worker, I studied at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, and was mentored in the Presbytery of Western New York, and ordained in the Presbytery of Genesee Valley.

Our Sunday Worship begins at 11:00 am Sunday School for youth and children begins with the worship service. The church office is (usually) open Monday through Thursday 9-2. Dear Sisters and Brothers, From the midst of Christmastide, I bring you wishes for a Merry Christmas Season, and bright hopes for the New Year, from Sherrie, Adelia, Kaleela, and Gracie, and the whole Wilkinson Family. It is our prayer that this letter finds you with the joy of the birth of the Christ child renewed in your heart, soul and mind, again. As we shared in Sunday Service on New Year’s Eve, the spirit of Christmas comes alive in the ancient rhyme about King Wenceslaus, who, like our God, provided a break from the wind and cold to his page, as they reached out to a neighbor, a stranger in need. Just as the angels first called to the shepherds in the field, the ordinary ones, with the good news of Christ’s coming, we are called to opt for the poor, for in doing so, “we shall find blessing. As we moved through the Twelve Days of Christmas, keeping in mind the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, and the three middle verses of the carol, “We, Three Kings”, using the last three days of Christmas to ask ourselves, “what of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, do we bring to the Bethlehem manger of our hearts, we were enabled to reflect in our spiritual life at home on the precious gift of reflection and renewal provided by the days of Christmastide.

Our Sunday Worship begins at 11:00 am Sunday School for youth and children begins with the worship service. The church office is (usually) open Monday through Thursday 9-2. Dear Saints and Friends of First Presbyterian Church of Medina, Has this ever happened to you? You have a brand new car, it has all the “bells and whistles,” and it has a powerful V-8 engine. You get in it to go somewhere, but the car doesn’t move. You sit and wonder what could be wrong, then you pop the hood and look at the engine, hoping to find something obviously amiss that you can fix and that’ll get the engine started, but there’s nothing wrong that you can see. The engine won’t start and still the car does nothing. All that power, all the capabilities of taking you places, but the car won’t run. All the things you could see and do if only you could get this new car running. And you think: what good is this thing I’ve invested so much into? It doesn’t improve my life at all! But then, just out of idle frustration, you turn on the ignition. The car starts! The engine roars to life! You put it in gear and start driving towards unlimited opportunities and possibilities. And you think: this is how it’s supposed to work! Well, if you’ve ever driven a car, you know enough to turn on the ignition to start the engine. You’re probably thinking: I’m smart enough to know the ignition has to be turned on in order to get the car to operate properly.
