Winterization Objectives

 Location: Central, West Bekaa, Rachaya

 Objective: The objective of the project is to improve the housing conditions of the most vulnerable people affected by the Syrian crisis and to reduce their vulnerability to face the winter season.

 Beneficiaries: Persons affected by the Syrian crisis, including Syrian refugees, Lebanese returned from Syria, host community and minorities

. Families who lives in unfinished house, storage, garage, basement without isolation from exterior (windows and doors), ground isolation, heater.  Results/Target attended:

. 650 vulnerable families who benefit from an adequate housing conditions to face winter threat representing 3250 persons

 Activities ( upon needs) : Weatherproofing . Sealing off (Windows & door) distribution and installation in site . Ground isolation (“moquette” 20 m2) distribution . Stoves (heater + 3 m pipes & 2 corners) distribution

Main results 29/01/2013

Handicap International installed and distributed isolation kits to 287 vulnerable families representing 1435 conflict affected persons in 1 month of implementation, in West Bekaa, Rachaya and Central Bekaa. Outreach teams and local network continue to identify and assess more cases, facing the increase of arrivals and the deteriorating situation. 650 families in need of weatherproofing will be covered during winter season.
