He has fallen three times from commuter train platforms, including in June 2012 when he broke his hand. He told Human Rights Watch, “Everywhere there’s a risk of trauma … maybe if there were those tactile strips that show you clearly where the platform ends, this would not have happened.” **** Twenty-six-year-old Maria D., who has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair, lives in a third-floor apartment in Sochi, home of the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
