The report summarizes not only the areas of lands that could be protected using the Environmental Reserve process, but also the options available through policies of the City of Edmonton to conserve lands not captured as ER. The report also compares City policies to standard municipal development practices that rely mainly on the tools available through the Municipal Government Act and other provincial legislation for environmental protection. Lastly, the results of the City’s Environmental Sensitivities analysis were compared to past assessments of environmentally significant areas in Leduc County, to determine how that inventory approach, and City’s natural areas policies might help conserve and sustain the biodiversity and ecological services of this landscape. We trust that the assessment will fulfill the requirements of the annexation process, and support other work currently underway in support of your application. The page was “read” into the Congressional Record and reported in the newspapers. Terry, Flip, and their colleagues had a great following among airmen, and the Air Force By John T. Correll the strip had considerable morale and public relations value. Gen. Henry H. “Hap” Arnold, Chief of the Army Air Forces, assigned an officer to as- sist Caniff with any technical details he needed. Caniff produced another strip, “Male Call,” without charge for camp and base newspapers. It featured Miss Lace, who was reminiscent of the Dragon Lady but less standoffish. It is difficult today to comprehend what a big deal the funnies used to be. Everybody read the comic strips. Characters were as well known as movie stars. The strips were printed much larger than present comic strips are. On Sunday, a popular strip might get a whole color page to itself. -

CREEKWATCH – Edmonton Sampling Locations MILL CREEK AT MILL CREEK RAVINE PARK SWIMMING POOL Parking & Sampling Access Stream Profile Mill Creek flows through south central Edmonton before entering the North Saskatchewan River. Named after a flourmill established in 1878 near the creek’s mouth, it enters Edmonton’s City limits through passing beneath Anthony Henday Drive. It eventually opens up into Mill Creek Ravine that offers scenic views and hiking opportunities within the bustling city of Edmonton. Sections of the creek are engineered underground to accommodate City infrastructure, and this includes the final section of the creek that enters the North Saskatchewan River through a raised culvert. The City of Edmonton is currently exploring the potential of resurfacing the north portion of the creek. Whitemud Creek was named during the Palliser Expedition for the white-coloured mud along the creek’s banks. The ravine provides ample opportunity for hiking and interactions with nature through old growth coniferous forests, deciduous and mixed-wood forests, meadows, and riparian communities. October 2019 HARVARD MEDICAL TIPS The gut-brain connection is no joke; it can link anxiety to stomach problems and vice versa. Have you ever had a "gut-wrenching" experience? Do certain situations make you "feel nauseous"? Have you ever felt "butterflies" in your stomach? We use these expressions for a reason. The gastrointestinal tract is UPCOMING EVENTS sensitive to emotion. Anger, anxiety, sadness, elation — all of these feelings (and others) can trigger symptoms in the gut. For example, the very thought of eating can release the stomach's juices before food gets there. This connection goes both ways. SHOP EASY FASHIONS A troubled intestine can send signals to the brain, just as a troubled brain can send signals to the gut. Therefore, a person's stomach or intestinal distress can be the cause or the product of ELECTIONS CANADA anxiety, stress, or depression.
