D Haden, 2nd D Williams PCC report Sam Kurtz will be speaking to Jon Murphy tomorrow to arrange talks with Welsh Water regarding laying pipes, supplying water and taking responsibility of Barham Road. Valley Management have been non-responsive in last few months. There is an application for a footpath from the A40 to Fishguard AFC after issues of children walking to the pitch with no lights and no footpath. Funding is still to be found but it is 7th on the list for priority in the whole of Pembs so is likely to have funding. Bins and amenity sites have changed as the way it has been done was unsustainable. S Kurtz has received no complaints officially regarding the changes although there are opinions against it online. There has been an increase in fly-tipping and enforcement officers are on the look-out. It has been a relatively quiet period for correspondence in Scleddau. There will be tree-felling and new fascias on council properties in Scleddau. D Williams raised issue of raised storm-drains higher than the other side of road in Waun- Las which will need resurfacing. D Williams also said that railings are needed opposite the Gate Inn around the pump towards the bus stop due to children in that area and would stop them trying to cross the road at a junction. D Haden raised the recurrent issue of cows loose in Ffos-Las, Trecwn. M Raymond raised the issue of pot-holes at Manorowen junction.     THE DIARY OF JOHN JAMES, TRENEWYDD, LLANWNDA, PEMBROKESHIRE FOR THE YEAR OF 1846 Introduction Inputting the diary of a farmer, John James, Pencaer Abergwaun for the single year of 1846 was the project, with the original material being kindly provided by Hedydd Hughes. The information had been scanned, and while this enabled enlargement of the script (which was sometimes difficult to read), it also meant that the ‘personal’ touch was missing. 351 records were put on the Llen Natur Tywyddiadur database – and the missing 14 are the result of there being no record of environmental interest rather than a lack of entry. The farmer was obviously a very spiritual person with biblical references making up more than half of the material in the diary. Although interesting, especially where they link to the author’s daily work, these have not been inputted. There was some uncertainty as to the name of the author of the diary and the location of where he was farming – but by using census returns for Pembrokeshire (as well as references from the diary) it has been possible to pinpoint the farm – to Trenewydd, OS sheet 157, GR SM 913 396.     Issue 20 November 2016 September 10th 2016 Red Bull Cliff Diving at Abereiddi – for one EPIC day only, as the weather closed in! 1 Red Bull Cliff Diving in Abereiddi Giant mirrored letters towered over the Blue Lagoon in Abereiddi for a week in September. Visit Wales was using the art installation to draw people's attention to some of Wales' most spectacular places. And it was also certainly an epic day in Abereiddi on Saturday 10th September for those lucky enough to have tickets to watch the return of Red Bull Cliff Diving. This year, women as well as men were spectacularly flinging themselves into the Blue Lagoon from ridiculous heights. The sun shone on the divers, and the stunning aerobatic display was performed in almost perfect conditions. But as the afternoon drew on, the wind and the swell were already picking up, and Sunday‟s forecasts for strong gusts forced the decision to cancel all diving the next day, and the event was completed in just the one day. There were many disappointed people who had acquired much sought-after tickets for Sunday‟s final, with some travelling long distances, and all expecting to witness the eagerly anticipated event, only to be thwarted by southerly gales. Built into it is a fine late eighteenth-century gazebo, from which there is a panoramic view to Fishguard Bay. Type of site Walled and compartmented garden with gazebo Main phases of construction Late seventeenth century; late eighteenth century; c. 1830 Site description Manorowen is a late Georgian mansion, with Home Farm and farm outbuildings, situated about 2 km south of Goodwick, on Fishguard Bay. The setting is rural, although the site is bisected by the A487 road and the railway line to Fishguard runs close to the east end of the garden. The ground slopes gently down to the house from Manorowen Hill, to the south-west, and eastwards down to a small river valley, which runs north to Fishguard Harbour. The house is two-storey and stuccoed, with a slate roof. The main front is on the south-east, facing a sloping lawn down to the road. The drive leads off the A487 from an entrance north-east of the house, swings round towards the south-west, passes in front of the house and continues for a short distance to the farm road to the south. To the north of the house, on the edge of an area of woodland, is a ruinous earlier mill house.
