WP 5 Tourism and Recreation in Forest Landscapes of the BL WARTA The Karczma Borowa Forest District Polish forests A great majority of Polish forest are owned by the Polish State Treasury, which means that they are open for each resident of our country. Foresters are responsible for making forests accessible to society in a manner that does not endanger their permanence, sustainability and biodiversity. 2 Problems and konflict areas The forest has to encompass a fair amount of recreational activities such as cycling, walking, forest education with the whole devices, mushroom picking, hunting, fishing, resting on the nature background, nature preservation, that is realized by different ecological or public groups, professional MTB tracks, motor sports etc. and simultaneously create its own natural, internal balance. At present, an extremely high number of institutions, organisations, enterprises and individuals are interested in forest accessibility. 3 Why the Karczma Borowa Forest District? The KB FD administering the forest which border with Leszno – a city with population of over 60 000. Forests located in the vicinity of big agglomerations play a protective, recreational and educational role rather than a productive function. 4 Establishment of partnership as a platform of dialogue The platform of dialogue is already established. Its composition guarantees dialogue between all interested sites, because its members are representatives of communities, business, forestry, sport, environment protection and culture associations.
