A real page turner written in the popular style of snippets of interviews from various people involved. I own a book on Perry from the mids and it doesn't compare to this book at all. Reading "Whores" really transports you back in time to that magical era at the cusp of the alternative rock explosion in the early 90s. Even if you're not a huge fan of the band, it's a great read to learn more about the Los Angeles scene that didn't involve white cowboy boots and gallons of hairspray. I really enjoyed this book, it was much better than I thought. While I am a huge JA fan, when I saw the book was nothing but quotes, I was worried and disappointed.
