This year's celebration will once again be held in the beauti- ISSUE: ful Botticelli Room at Monastero’s Ristorante, located at 3935 W. Devon Avenue. The menu will consist of homemade Minestrone soup, family-style roasted chicken, Ital- ian roast beef, penne pasta with tomato sauce, whipped potatoes and mixed vegetable medley. Everyone will enjoy cheesecake with strawberry sauce for dessert. Tea at the 2 Tony Bernard, a Skokie Theatre and Social Club favorite, will serenade us all into the Peninsula holiday spirit. Bring your dancing shoes—his music is sure to move you! We will raffle off one FREE! ticket to Donny & Marie at the luncheon! Touhy Avenue Movie & Lunch (Classic) White Christmas A veritable warehouse full of oldie-but-goodie Irving Berlin tunes are woven into the film's plotline, along with a handful of new songs, of which "What Can You Do With a General?" is the least memorable. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye play nightclub enter- tainers Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, while Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen are cast as singing-sister act Betty and Judy. The foursome travel to Vermont to visit Bob and Phil's WII commanding officer, General Waverly (Dean Jagger), who now runs a rustic old inn. Discovering that the general is in dire financial straits, the four enter- tainers secretly make plans to bail the old guy out with a big musical show, enlisting the aid of Bob and Phil's army buddies. Wowing the crowds, Martin Scorsese was awarded the first Robert Osborne Award by Leonardo DiCaprio, recognizing the directors commitment to the preservation of motion pictures.
