Active Duty Servicemembers Along with getting 30% off the tuition, Active Duty Military are also able to take every fifth class tuition- free. There is a $2 per credit comprehensive fee. Guard and Reserve Full-time Students Gwynedd-Mercy College may award a $6,000 Military Recognition Scholarship to accepted full-time students who are members of National Guard or are active reservists. Recipients of the Military Recognition Scholarship are required to continue their service and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0 while students at Gwynedd-Mercy College . They must also remain enrolled on a full-time basis in a program leading to an associate's or bachelor's degree. The Scholarship will be renewable for one year pursuant of an associate's, and three years pursuant of a bachelor's degree contingent on satisfactory academic progress. Gwynedd-Mercy College applies the Scholarship towards recipients' tuition after they enroll as full-time students. In accordance with Gwynedd-Mercy College policy, Institutional Financial Aid may be adjusted whenever total institutional awards, merit- and/or need-based, in whole or combination, exceed 50 percent of tuition charges. Part-time Students Part-time students receive a 30% discount on the tuition fee in addition to the monies received from their branch and/or unit. The grant will be available to spouses and dependent children (according to the Internal Revenue Service definitions for legal dependent) who are accepted at Peirce College. Widener University places a high value on citizenship and civic engagement, and as such believes it only fitting to assist the children of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Dependent children* of U.S. military personnel who were killed in action in either Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) or Operation Iraqi Freedom will be provided the opportunity to receive a Widener CARES scholarship towards a four-year undergraduate degree at Widener University. The current value of the Widener CARES scholarship is up to $25,000 per year ($100,000/recipient).
