Clubbing Optimus, an innovative cycle of concerts, sponsored by Optimus, with several shows being held in different areas of Casa da Música, will be, this Saturday, taken by storm by Iceland. This is the second in a line-up of shows that will bring, over the next few months, reference bands to the city of Porto. In this way, the stage of Sala 2 receives Múm, who began recording albums again last September after three years of intense activity – including worldwide tours and some original projects associated with the cinema and radio. Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy, the successor of Summer Make Good, marks a new turning point in the group’s history, by returning to its original duo of founders, Gunnar and Örvar, and includes a large number of collaborators. The integration of electronics with the most varied instruments – not only the guitar but also the trumpet, the violin, the violoncello, the moog and percussion instruments – and the predilection for strong melodies are the key strengths of Múm. The North Americans Pere Ubu will be up on stage next, a cult band that comes from Cleveland and whose career spans more than 30 years: "the most long-lasting and disastrous commercial project to have been born in rock 'n' roll", according to the lead singer and founder David Thomas. The music of Pere Ubu, although associated with the music trends that were disseminated in rock music of the 70's and with a rhythmic pulse very close to that of Krautrock, assumes unique characteristics, due in large part to the charismatic presence and peculiar approach of the singer. In the second Clubbing Optimus of 2008, the line-up will be as follows: Main Attractions: 23h30m | Sala 2: Múm Pere Ubu Guests for the other areas of Casa da Música: 23h00| Sala Roxa: Álvaro Costa Página 1 de 2 01h30| Foyer Poente: Bloodgroup FM Belfast 23h00| Foyer Nascente: Fazuma 23h00| Bares: Athletic Cocktail Mooner Jo Jo De Freq The planned dates for this cycle of concerts are: 15 March, 12 April, 3 May and 31 May. Ticket prices vary from from 5€ (which grants entry to Casa da Música and access to the complementary shows) to 15€ (for the main shows in Sala 2 and complementary shows). This sponsorship is one of Optimus’ main commitments in 2008 within the music sphere, since this is considered a universal axis, from both the demand and supply point of view. Through music, it is possible to reach a very extensive target and, in turn, different segments. With Optimus’ association to music, being an Optimus client is synonymous with various benefits: music files and videoclips for downloading, ring tones and wallpapers to personalize your mobile phone, special information, such as news about artists, music recommendations, etc.. These are just some of the contents that Optimus provides to music lovers. Optimus what do you need? Página 2 de 2 .
