Station which Facility Serves: Pegasus Field McMurdo Station (77°51′S, 166°40′E) is the year‐round main operating base for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Prior permission from USAP is required for any support or services at any airfield or operating base. Airfield status, operating hours, and services available change seasonally, contact USAP for current and more detailed information. Radio Communications and Navigation Facilities Call signs and identifications: McMurdo Center (”Mac Center”); Airspace classification and procedures are standard except as published. Consult current publications, NOTAMs, or contact McMurdo Center for operating procedures.

Meteorology Meteorological services for USAP operations are provided from McMurdo Station weather office (”Mac Weather”). Mac Weather operations 24 hours October to February; and observer and forecaster are on station during winter‐over. Use main USAP telephone number for contact information.

Remarks Navigation aids and communications transmitters vary annually, contact the USAP for current status. Normal aviation operating periods are Winter‐fly (WINFLY) in August and main season October to February. Contact USAP for status and conditions of skiways, runways, and helipads. Strict adherence to ATCM Resolution 2 (2004) restrictions apply.
