These should be solid basis to build new teachers. 3- To reinforce the relationship we are already building with ASI as to create our own sector. This would help in defining our identity as a group and creating the independence we have been looking for. EUROPE As Head of Competition Commission, my purpose is to establish a written regulation which can help to follow a common guideline to level out all international competitions and avoid lots of problems which nowadays badly affect organisation of some championships. This is also the main point I am discussing about in my below thesis. GIUSEPPE POLLASTRO 5 THESIS HONG DAI NHAT – VIETNAM 2016 6th May 2016 – Ho Chi Minh - THESIS HONG DAI NHAT New regulation to organise international competitions GIUSEPPE POLLASTRO 6 THESIS HONG DAI NHAT – VIETNAM 2016 INTRODUCTION CHAPTER 1 General rules for organisation 1.1 Competition space 1.2 Material 1.3 Doctor and Ambulance 1.4 Warm-up area 1.5 Hosting Country 1.6 Registration: deadline and forms 1.7 Who can compete 1.8 Dope Test CHAPTER 2 Race Official and Referees 2.1 Race Official 2.2 Head of Referees 2.3 Referees 2.5 Claim Commission Manager 2.5 Administrative Office Manager CHAPTER 3 General Rules for Competitors CHAPTER 4 Technical Competition 4.1 Regulation 4.2 Excel file format for score 4.3 Exception to the rule: tie CHAPTER 5 Fighting competition Art 4.1 Regulation Art 4.2 Software for score Art 4.3 Weight Art 4.4 Sparring Gears CONCLUSION GIUSEPPE POLLASTRO 7 THESIS HONG DAI NHAT – VIETNAM 2016 INTRODUCTION The idea to write this thesis comes from my long experience in Vovinam International Competitions. During these years I have been to almost all competitions organised by WVVF or EVVF, either as an athlete or as team leader and I have always found out that one important thing is still missing: there is no written regulation which can help to follow a common guideline to level out all international competitions and avoid lots of problems which nowadays badly affect organisation of some championships. My opinion is that written rules are clear, so everybody can learn and follow them without mistakes; they make organising committee work easier on all steps to arrange all details as rules needs to be followed by everybody. Moreover, a regulation will be useful to reduce misunderstandings, claims, disappointing situation before the championship and during it, as every team/every country knows exactly how to behave and how to handle bureaucratic procedures. Therefore my purpose is to give you an idea of this regulation, underlining all main points which should be clarified and explained step by step. I have divided my thesis in 5 chapters dealing with most important points which should be kept into consideration for a good organisation of an international championship. GIUSEPPE POLLASTRO 8 THESIS HONG DAI NHAT – VIETNAM 2016 CHAPTER 1 General rules for organisation 1.1 Competition Space Competition area is made of one squared tatami 9x9meters or 11x11meters. In the middle of this tatami there is a 1 square meter of a different colour compared to the external bigger area. Its main function is to show start and finish position in case of technical competitions. Outer border is of the same colour of middle square: it is the maximum limit where competitors can play their performance. For Quyen and Song Luyen it is still part of the competition area whereas for fighting this is the penalty area. For World Championship it must be used only one single competition area, for European Championships it can be used either one or two areas. On four corners and on the central side, it is necessary to place five tables with chairs for referees. Each table must have its own scoreboard. During fighting competitions it is necessary to add one more table as a support for the big screen showing total scores of the match. Tables must be placed at least two meters away from competition areas to give necessary space to all athletes. 1.2 Material At least 4 meters away from the competition area, organising team can place advertising billboards of maximum 80 cm height with sponsor logo and/or championship posters. In a central zone, well visible from all over around, there should be the administrative office and the race official: six tables for a total length of six meters with twelve chairs, microphones and speaker. Off course on the administrative office table there should be necessary materials to run the event: two PC, two printers and all kind of stationery. Near administrative desk there are chairs for all referees who are waiting their turn; when they are called, they go and stand in front of the competition area before entering on it as per WVVF regulation. 1.3 Doctor and Ambulance On the opposite side of referees, not too far away from competition area, it is compulsory to have a space for doctors and ambulance. At least one doctor must be always available for emergencies and cannot leave the competition. Only during break or in case of an injury he is authorized to leave his position. If doctor or ambulance are forced to leave the competition area, then it will be necessary to stop the competition till their return. 1.4 Warm-up area Finally, please do not forget the warm-up area where athletes can prepare themselves for the competition. It is extremely important that somebody from the staff stays there as to inform athletes about their turn and the starting time of each category. It will be useful to have an updated list of all categories, with starting time, names of competitors etc.. This report should be updated immediately if required.

Nguyen Duc Thanh1 Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education Abtract Background: The current Vovinam curriculum at the FPT Polytechnic College of Practice Ho Chi Minh City is still inadequate. This is clearly shown through many limitations such as the content of teaching is not very applicable; Examination and evaluation is still subjective; Teaching methods are not plentiful, not attracting learners; The allocation of subject curricula is not rational; Physical strength of students after attending the course is only average .... Through researching and developing an improved Vovinam program, initially showed that this new program has many outstanding advantages. Especially, after the time of application, the physical indicators of the male and female students of the experimental group (learning under the improved program) were significantly improved compared to those of the control group (studying under the old program). That can confirm the effectiveness of the new Vovinam curriculum. • Breaking Req.. Red Belt: 1. Front Kick & Any Choice 2. Side Kick & Any
Breaking Req.. Suggestions... These new requirements will be set as of Jan. 2008 You may not repeat board breaks from one testing to another. You may not do a set from a lower or higher belt requirement; however, you may choose to include any of the options as an 'Any Choice' option. All board breaks are to be done as one break or one set. In other words, if you break one station but not the other, both stations need to be reset and attempted again. On the third attempt, the boards that were not broken in the first two attempts should be done first. In the event that both stations were not successful in the first two attempts, the order of breaks is the decision of the person testing. 10 years old and younger will not be required to repeat a successful break. Once one station is broken, the individual may continue with the other station until the board has broken. Red Belt: 1. Front Kick & Any Choice 2. Side Kick & Any Choice 3. • The Significance of Eastern Martial Arts Disciplines in British Men's
This is an Author's Accepted Manuscript of an article published in ASIA PACIFIC JOURNAL OF SPORT AND SOCIAL SCIENCE, vol.1, nos.2-3, 2012, copyright Taylor & Francis, available online at: http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/21640599.2012.751170. Western men and Eastern arts: The significance of Eastern martial arts disciplines in British men’s narratives of masculinity Alex Channon Department of Secondary Education, University of Greenwich, London, UK Corresponding Author: Dr. Alex Channon, School of Education, University of Greenwich, Mansion Site, Bexley Road, London SE9 2PQ Tel: +44 (0)20 8331 8255 Email: [email protected] 1 Western men and Eastern arts: The significance of Eastern martial arts disciplines in British men’s narratives of masculinity Previous Western sociological research on Eastern martial arts has identified a tension between ‘traditional’ Eastern forms of practice and ‘modernised’ Western methods of training and competition. Particularly, the ‘sportisation’ of Eastern styles, where combat-centred arts based upon moral philosophies have transformed more or less into competitive activities following Western models of rationalised sport, has been an important theme. However, it is also suggested that Eastern martial arts hold special significance in the West for their seemingly esoteric nature. In this regard, such martial arts are considered significant because they are not ‘sports’, but rather disciplines with fairly different connotations for practitioners. Drawing on interview data, this paper explores how Western practitioners of Eastern martial arts articulate this difference, principally by examining the place of martial artistry in British men’s narratives of masculinity. Comparing themselves favourably to assumed, typical visions of Western sporting masculinity, such men draw upon the imagined uniqueness of their martial arts to construct a sense of moral superiority over other men.

  • Sunset Elementary / South Miami Taekwondo
P.A.C.E. / South Miami Taekwondo General Scope and Welcome Letter Welcome to the P.A.C.E. Taekwondo program provided by South Miami Taekwondo. I am Master Jeff Wade, 6th Dan Chief Instructor. My contact information is at the end of this page and I welcome parents and or students to contact me at any time if you have any concerns or questions. The purpose of martial arts study is often mistaken. At first glance, an observer might assume the class is about kicking, punching, fighting, self-defense etc. But the true purpose of martial arts is much more meaningful. A true martial artist uses the process of learning and refining these fascinating, often-complicated physical abilities as a catalyst for becoming a better person. The fierce battlefield of the Samurai of feudal Japan is long gone, but the battlefield of everyday life is alive and kicking (pun definitely intended). It did not take the warriors of the ancient orient long to figure out that the intense training involved in mastery of the martial arts also honed the spirit of these warriors and enabled them to handle the affairs of living life with the same skill at which they had learned to take it in battle. It is difficult to capture exactly how this happens. I can tell you that we emphasize the virtues of respect, discipline, courtesy, humility and benevolence. In our culture, these words are often foggy, nebulous concepts to our children. At South Miami Taekwondo, any kid with a colored belt can stop and explain the meaning of these words to you along with examples of how we use them both in and outside class.
