Currently, members are JunK (formerly known as Junsu), Nichhun, Taechen, Wuyong, Junho and Changsung. Initially as a group of seven people Jaebeom left the group due to disputes in MySpace in 2009 and left the group and the agency in early 2010. The 2PM story began when Korean musician Park Jin-yong formed an eleven-person band known as One Day. Eventually the group was divided into 2PM and a similar but independent group known as 2AM. 2PM debuted with the song 10 Jeom Manjeome 10 Jeom (10점 만점에 10점, lit. 10 points out of 10 points), which showcased their acrobatic dance styles. They reached their first number 1 single with Again and Again. Both singles were featured on their first studio album, 01:59PM, released in 2009. The band released another Korean album, known as Hands Up, in 2011. They made their Japanese debut later that year with the Republic 2PM. More than a year later, the band returned in 2013 with their third studio album Grown. In early September 2014, 2PM returned with their fourth studio album Go Crazy. June 15, 2015 2:00 p.m. 5. After a long wait 2pm returned on September 13, 2016 with their their gentlemen's game. Since July 2017, the band is on an official break. The story of the Pre-debut Members 2PM all auditioned (except for Nichkhun, who was a scout) to become part of JYP Entertainment. Some participants already had experience in the entertainment industry, including Jun. K, who won several singing competitions. Ok Taecyeon, Lee Junho and Hwang Chanceung took part in the SuperStar Survival show. Some members previously lived in the United States, former leader Jabom in the Seattle area of Nichhun in southern California, while Taechen spent seven years in Massachusetts before returning to Korea. The members of 2PM were originally part of a larger group known as One Day. A documentary called Hot Blood Men captured the band's training days. In this documentary, the former member of Jaebeom finished in first place and received the most fan votes. It also featured the elimination of three interns from the group: Lee Swichi, Chon Jinwoon, and Yoon Doo-Joon were all cut. However, Jinwoun replaced Im Dehun after the latter's departure. By the end of the one-day training process, it had been reduced to a group of eleven. The band was then split into a four-person group of 2AM and a hip-hop group of seven people by 2PM. 2008-10: Debut, further releases, 01:59pm, departure of Jaebeom and recuriment as 6 members See also: 01:59 PM While most Korean boy bands at the time took a beautiful boy (Korean: kkonminam) image, 2PM built a hard and macho beast-like image when they made their debut. Emphasizing their masculine image, 2PM created the phenomenon jimseung-dol (jimseung means animal or beast in Korean) in 2008. Jaebeom was chosen as the leader of the group, as he was the oldest member, as well as one who all members recognized as the most talented. He played key roles in several of the band's early singles and related music videos. 2PM debuted with the single 10 Out of 10 (10점 만점에 10 점) on September 4, 2008. In October 2008, they began promoting Only You, another song from their debut EP Hottest Time of the Day. At the same time at 14:00 the third season of the Korean variety show Idol Army took place. In April 2009, the band released their second EP, 2:00PM Time For Change, which they began promoting the same month with the single Again and Again. In May, they won their first Mutizen Song award on M! Countdown and then two more and the Award Music Bank. On June 11 at 14:00 the action Niga Mipda (니가 밉다, lit. I hate you) on M! Countdown. On July 2 evenings reached the first place on M! Countdown and Music Bank charts on the song by Niga Mipda. July 30 at 14:00 on M! Countdown. At this time 2PM also starred in the popular Korean variety show Wild Bunny. Later that year controversy around Jaebeom. By 4 4 2009, articles surfaced on the Internet regarding Jaebeom posts from 2005 on his personal Myspace account, in which he expressed his dislike for Korea while still an intern for JYP Entertainment. These emails, leaked by netizen, which hacked his Myspace account, were taken out of context and seriously misunderstood by the Korean media. Jaebeom apologized. While some demanded that Jaebeom be ousted from 2pm, JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin-yong said on September 7 that he had expressed a vote of confidence in the singer, suggesting he would remain in the band. However, the next day, Jaebeom announced on his official fanf that he would leave the band and return to the United States for a while to calm the situation. He planned to go back to school and improve his understanding of music. At the same time, he apologized to other members of the band for not being a good leader and big brother to them. He also promised to return as a better man. Park Jin-young confirmed that 2PM will continue as part of a group of six. Due to the sensitive topic of Jaebeom's departure, 2PM withdrew for several weeks from their performances on the variety show. 2PM at a press conference in Bangkok in February 2009 despite disagreements, the band went ahead with the release of their first studio album. Known as 01:59 p.m., the album was released on November 10, 2009. However, questions about Jaebeom remained. The day after the album's release, Park Jin-yong announced that Jaebeom could return at 2PM if he wanted to make a comeback, although the singer's return was not inevitable. In support of Jaebeom, six 2PM members decided to share their income from their first album with him. The album included tracks voiced by Jaebeom, although his face was removed from the cover. In October 2009, the band completed a re-release of the music video for Heartbeat, the title song without Jaebeom. The band began promotional activities for the album on various music shows, including M.Net O Good Concert, KBS Music Bank, MBC Music Core and SBS Inkigayo in November 2009. A week after the album's release, 2PM performed on and was honored at the M.net Asian Music Awards with awards for Best Male Group and Artist of the Year (the latter is one of the three most prestigious awards on the show). The band paid tribute to Jebeum during the performance of Again and Again. During the performance, the spotlight shone over Jaebeom's usual position in the dance formation, and his vocals played over the speakers without being replaced. At the end of November 2009, after two weeks of promotional activity for 1:59 PM, 2PM earned its first #1 on the TV music show (KBS Music Bank's K-Chart) since the album's release, with Heartbeat, who continued to take #1 on the K-Chart three more In addition, Heartbeat won the Mutizen award for Triple Crown on SBS Inkigayo, being the song #1 in the Inkigayo chart Take 7 for three weeks, the maximum amount of time for which the nominated song is eligible to win. On December 30, 2009, at the end of the year at the Korean Broadcasting System Music Festival (KBS), Again was recognized as Song of the Year, winning 57,060 votes. The second single 2PM from 01:59 pm was Tired of Waiting. The song was performed live at the SBS music festival in December 2009. The release of the album at 2pm ended with ABS Inkigayo performing in January 2010.
