Distinguished Chief Guest Miss RM. Pyara., Junior Asian Gold Medalist SDAT, Dharmapuri. Respected Secretary, Respected Principal, Staff, Guest and Students. With great pleasure, I present this 55th Annual Report of the Department of Physical Education. Since 1978 our college has been Incorporating Physical Education, N.S.S and N.C.C. under part V of the curriculum. A pass in any one of these is mandatory to get the U.G Degree. 723 students in I year and 825 Students in II year U.G Degree Course have enrolled under part V Physical Education in this Academic year. Along with the normal games and , students are being given training in yoga. In this occasion, I feel very happy to present the achievements of our students before you. 1. ALL INTER UNIVERSITY

1. K.Keerthana Devi – III Tamil and V.Athilakshmi- III English have been selected as the member of M.S.U Basket Ball team. They have participated in the All India Inter University Basket Ball Tournament held at SRM University, Chennai from 30-10-2018 to 08-11-2018. 2. M.Saravana Priya –III Physics has been selected as the Member of M.S.U Ball team. She has participated in the All India Inter University Ball Badminton Tournament held at Krishna University, Vijayavada, on 07-13.01.2019.

2. SOUTH ZONE INTER UNIVERSITY

1. C.Pushpavathi-III Maths and K.Viji III Physics have been selected as the members of M.S.U Kho- Kho team. They have participated in the South Zone Inter University Kho-Kho Tournament held at Mangalore University, from 12-10-2018- 18-10-2018. 2. M.Sangavi-III English (SF), has been selected as the member of M.S.U Volley Ball team She participated in the South Zone Inter University Volley Ball Tournament held at Koneru Lakshmiah Education Foundation University, Gundur from 23-10-2018 to 31-10-2018. 3. K.ChitraDevi-III Maths has been selected as the member of M.S.U team. She participated in the South Zone Inter University Hockey Tournament held at Alagappa University, Karaikudi from 24- 11-2018- 02-12-2018. 4. C.Dharanya-III Tamil has been selected as the member of M.S.U Kabaddi team. They are participated in the South Zone Inter University Kabaddi Tournament held at Bengalur North University from 08.11.2018 to 14.11.2018.

3. INTER COLLEGIATE TOURNAMENT • Our college team participated in the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Inter Collegiate Volley ball, Kho-Kho, , Ball Badminton, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, and Hockey held at various colleges under Manonmaniam Sundaranar University from July 2018 to Jan 2019.Our College Kho-Kho, Basket Ball and Ball Badminton Team got 3rd place.

4. INTER COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC MEET • In the Inter Collegiate Athletic meet conducted at Anna Stadium Tirunelveli from November 24-10-2018 to 26-10-2018.18 Students participated

• At district level our college Volley Ball Team got II place in Junior District level Inter Collegiate Volley Ball Tournament to be held at Tirunelveli on 18-08-2018 and got a cash award of Rs.3000. • Our college Volley Ball Team got 1st place in Southern District level Volley Ball Tournament held at Tirunelveli on 13-01-2019(Rs-4000/- Cash Award) and M. COACHING CAMPS ORGANIZED • We have organized Inter National Yoga Day June21-2018 • We have organized District Level Kabaddi team coaching camp in our college for three days from 21st to 23rd August 2018. • We have organized M.S.U Basket Ball,T.T and Selection Trial on6&7Sep2018 • We have organized M.S.U Ball Badminton team coaching camp in our college for Three days from 05th to 07th January2019.

Every Year a Rolling shield is being given to the Department that stands as the highest score through their student’s participation. I am happy to inform you that in this academic year 2018 to 2019 the Department of BBA wins the Rolling Shield, scoring 51 points and second place goes to the Department of Tamil securing 44 points. Lotus house I years secured 72 points got the team Championship, Rose house II years secured 54 points got II Place. Athletic Championship goes to Rose house II Years securing 37 points and second place goes to Lotus house I years securing 33points. Individual championship goes to T.Anitha – II Botany (R) securing 15 Points and M.Pechiammal-III BBA SF securing 15 points. Staff vs Students matches was conducted in Throw ball, Ball Badminton, Badminton, , Tennikoit, and Table Tennis. Students won the match in, Ball Badminton, Volley Ball, and Tennikoit. Staff won the match in Table Tennis, Badminton, and Throw Ball. In Staff Vs Staff competition Arts staff won the Science staff. In Arts staff Vs Arts students Tug off war competition Arts staff won the Arts students. In Science staff Vs Science students Tug off war competition Science staff won the Science students. I thank the Non –Teaching staff for having extended their full support in making this day a colorful one. My thanks are due to the parents and Guardians for their keen interest and encouragement extended to their wards who participated and exhibited their skills today through mass activities which made the function a grant success. I specially thank Sports committee Co-ordinator Dr.V.Malathi-Commerce Department the members of Sports committee and the members of Faculty in charge of Mass activities. But, for them, today’s celebration would not have been possible.
