The Anglican Parishes of Whittington, and Hints

TWO WEEKS - SUNDAYS 4th & 11th July 2021

We are three inclusive Anglican churches where you are always welcome May God’s blessing be upon you We believe in an inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race, age or sexuality. We believe in an hospitable Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is inherently Eucharistic and sacramental, scripturally faithful but open to new insights; which seeks to proclaim and apply the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.

A PRAYER FOR ST SWITHUN’S FEAST DAY (St Swithun’s feast day is celebrated on July 15th each year.) Almighty God, by whose grace we celebrate again the feast of your servant Swithun: grant that, as he governed with gentleness the people committed to his care, so we, rejoicing in our Christian inheritance, may always seek to build up your Church in unity and love; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Lichfield Diocese: Our prayers take forwards the ‘SHAPING FOR MISSION’ Deanery focus. As ‘People of Hope’ we remain mindful of the implications of Covid-19, both locally and globally. Give thanks for the Hospitals and Health Centres in Diocese, with amazing staffs both medical and support, including the Chaplains – for their devotion to duty and to their patients - the incredible care and high skills in treating those who have contracted COVID-19, the teams of personnel who have worked tirelessly to ensure so many have received the vaccination. Give thanks for the successful Lichfield Foodbank, the wonderful volunteers, those individuals and churches who contribute on a regular basis, those who depend on the Foodbank to either supplement or form the main basis of their daily food. Father God, we pray for your protection from harm; in times of anxiety your peace, in times of upset your love, and with working relationships your joy. Amen.
