The program allows students access to a wide variety of appealing books. When reading is enjoyable, it reflects students’ interests, it is self-selected and resembles L1 reading. Lina Kholaki has her master’s degree in education from Pacific Oaks College, is certified as an ACTFL-OPI and WPT ​ tester, and has been in the teaching field for the past 20+ years. She was appointed as a language consultant and coordinator for Arabic Teachers at New Horizon campuses, She has taught college-level Arabic Language Courses at Cal State San Bernardino and the University of Southern California. Currently, she serves as consultant and instructional coach for LAUSD-Dual Immersion program at Elizabeth Learning Center in Los Angeles, California.
