HARYANA GOVERNMENT ARCHAEOLOGY AND MUSEUMS DEPARTMENT Notification The 6th April, 2021 No. 12/232-2020-Pura/965-70.— Whereas the Governor of Haryana is of the opinion that archaeological sites and remains ancient and historical monuments specified in column 1 of the Schedule given below requires protection under the Punjab Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1964 (Punjab Act 20 of 1964); Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Punjab Ancient and Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1964 (Punjab Act 20 of 1964), the Governor of Haryana hereby proposes to declare the Ancient and Historical Monuments specified in column 1 of Schedule given below, to be protected monuments and the archaeological sites and remains specified in columns 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the said Schedule to be protected area. The bathing tank is located next to the Rani Ki Chhatri with stairs all around. It was patronized by widow of Anrudh Singh of Ballabhgarh Royal Family. The Tank is constructed with brick walls with octagonal turrets and arched niches. It was filled with water that flowed into it from the nearby Canal. Both the fort- palace and Rani Ki Chhatri were interconnected with an internal passage. Rani Ki Chhatri is a pillared hall structure with a square plan and elevated plinth. Islamic Multi cusped arches, pointed arches, Rajput style capped with bangldars and central Chhatri at terrace level with onion . The structure is built in bricks and lime, Clad with buff coloured sandstone. Interior walls are covered in white araish plaster and the ceiling is painted. Building corners are marked with a octagonal turrets at ground level capped with ribbed domed chhatris at roof level. A sandstone chajja on decorative stone brackets runs all round the building below parapet level. The tank is composed of Lakhori brick walls with octagonal turrets and arched niches, a style typical of the water body architecture prevalent in the region of North India.
