The Buck- eyes advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 28th time in program history, making it to the second round of the West Regional in Boise, Idaho. Ohio State fell to Gonzaga after downing South Dakota State. During the regular season, the Buckeyes defeated No. 1 Michigan State in Columbus and took to the road to take down No. 3 Purdue. Holtmann was named the Big Ten’s Coach of the Year while redshirt junior Keita Bates-Diop took home league player of the year honors. Bates-Diop, who was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, averaged a Big Ten best 19.8 points a game while con- tributing nearly nine rebounds a contest.
