Description Brinsworth and Catcliffe lies in the west of Borough, with a population of 12,360 (2017) and an area of 630 hectares. The ward combines the large parish of Brinsworth (population 8,870) with the smaller parish of Catcliffe (population 2,360). The Phoenix area north of Road is not part of Brinsworth Parish but forms part of the wider Brinsworth community.

The far south of the ward covers the northern part of the developing new settlement of Waverley. This area is home to the Advanced Manufacturing Park as well as new housing development. Suburban housing predominates in Brinsworth and Catclliffe and is popular with commuters to both Rotherham and . Although there are deprived pockets, the ward is generally less deprived than average for Rotherham.

The ward lacks extremes in terms of deprivation but north east Brinsworth ( Bridge & Duncan Street) and to a lesser extent in Catcliffe and the Manor Road area of Brinsworth are the more deprived parts of the ward. West Brinsworth (around Bonet Lane and Brinsworth Lane) is the least deprived area.
