He founded the Society of the Divine Saviour (Salvatorians) in 1881 and the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Saviour (Salvatorian Sisters) in 1888. He died on 8 September 1918 in Tafers in Switzerland. The Salvatorians in Australia began in 1961. The declaration of Pope Francis on 19 June 2020 finished the process on the miracle and opened the way towards the beatification of Fr. Francis Jordan.
