A growing number of U.S. politicians are mouthing labor movement as Hitler did before he began "restoring law phrases similar to the famous quotation from Hitler depicted and order." The scene here is from the University of California here. The problem of the U. S. politicians is that they are bogged at Los Angeles where, May 26, 30 percent of the 32,000-member down in Vietnam and facing mounting militancy of black, brown student body joined a strike in solidarity with embattled Berkeley and other third world people, as well as a spreading youth students. It was an unprecedented action for UCLA which has radicalization. With all these difficulties, and more, they are lagged behind general campus militancy. -

Henry Kissinger and the Vietnam War Khuong Huu Dieu
Henry Kissinger and the Vietnam War Khuong Huu Dieu Secret Meteoric Rise to Power and Fame Henry Kissinger and his friend Fritz Kraemer. Kissinger being sworn in as Secretary of State by Chief Justice Warren Burger, Why in my memoirs do I have a sub chapter on Henry Kissinger, one of the world’s greatest Secretaries of State and a celebrity? Simply because Kissinger’s foreign policy and actions turned my life upside down in 1975, from a middle class engineer in Saigon to a dispossessed and depressed refugee in Marine Camp Pendleton in California. He has changed drastically not only my life but also the life of millions of Vietnamese and Americans. In search for the truth about Henry Kissinger’s actions, I wish my readers will not consider me a bitter vengeful South Vietnamese American or a bad loser in the Vietnam War. On the contrary, I acknowledge that Kissinger’s diplomatic action resulted in my rebirth in the land of the free, a break through unique in my life time! It even gave me an opportunity to write about the truth of his deeds during the Vietnam War. My fact findings came from the declassified top secret documents of the CIA and the NSC (National Security Council.) Kissinger was born Heinz Alfred Kissinger in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany in 1923 during the Weimar Republic to a family of German Jews. In 1938, fleeing Nazi persecution, his family moved to New York. He enrolled in the City College of New York, studying accounting. His studies were interrupted in early 1943, when he was drafted into the U.S. -

Beginning as a seminar paper for Professor Zdatny’s class in Fall 2018, my research on Churchill and De Gaulle slowly grew into the thesis that follows. It was a collaborative effort that allowed me to combine all of my fields of study from my entire university experience. This project took me to London and Cambridge to conduct archival research and made for many late nights on the second floor of the Howe Library. I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment for this thesis that is reflective of the work I have done at UVM. -

LE SILENCE DE LA GUERRE? FRENCH COMBATANTS' MEMOIRS OF THE ALGERIAN WAR, 1954-1988. Anndal G. Narayanan A thesis submitted to the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of History. Chapel Hill 2012 Approved by: Donald Reid Lloyd Kramer Christopher Lee ©2012 Anndal G. Narayanan ALL RIGHTS RESERVED ii ABSTRACT ANNDAL NARAYANAN: Le silence de la guerre? French combatants' memoirs of the Algerian War, 1954-1988 (Under the direction of Donald Reid) Fifty years after the cessation of hostilities, the memory of the Algerian War of Independence (1954-1962) remains an open wound in French society. From the time of the war itself, French veterans of Algeria sought to find their voice in a society largely indifferent to them and their experiences. This thesis examines the evolving memory of the Algerian War among French veterans who wrote wartime memoirs, and seeks the relationship of these narratives with the wider French collective memory of the Algerian War, by closely following the constructed figure of the combatant. This study finds that French veterans' narratives of Algeria, while all expressing various kinds of victimhood, evolved in time from the political to the personal, encouraged by governmental amnesties that depoliticized the memory of the war and contributed to the impossibility of a general collective memory of the Algerian War in France. iii To the memory of Mr. Donald Hall, who taught me the importance of reading, writing, and teaching history. iv ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I would like to thank my adviser, Dr. -
