We are very grateful for their support. Sarah Bentley, CEO Thames Water "I firmly believe that no-one should be living in circumstances where they are being abused or witnessing abuse. It’s a topic that is very close to my heart, after supporting close family members who were experiencing abuse from their stepfather, and I want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to support anyone suffering in this way. That’s why I’m particularly honoured that we’re hosting this important EIDA event, which brings together companies from across the country who are committed to tackling domestic abuse and ensuring victims of abuse can access the help and support they need. "Through the media, we’re seeing there’s been a rise in domestic violence, particularly during the pandemic, where people may have less opportunity to reach out for support while they’re following ‘stay at home’ advice. We’ve also embedded the Safe Spaces app on our website, so that anyone experiencing domestic violence could discreetly reach out for help at the touch of a button." Delegate Pack I Thursday 18 March 3 A message from our CEO Lorraine O’Brien, CEO, EIDA Welcome to todays Quarterly Network Meeting, we are so pleased that so many of you have been able to join us for what we hope you will find is an informative session. We have a wonderful selection of speakers all of whom have unique insight they can share on today’s subject of An Inclusive Response to Domestic Abuse: The role the employer. I’d like to thank all or our speakers for their contribution and to pay a special thank you to Jess Phillips MP. She has been a huge advocate of ours and continues to support our work and encourage businesses to engage with us. Our membership growth continues at pace and you will see from todays Delegate Pack that we have a large growth in membership amongst parliamentarians. This has, in large part, been driven by Jess Phillips and Theresa May within their respective parties. Additionally, we continue to grow our EIDA Beacon Programme that we announced at our last Quarterly meeting. We are working tirelessly in the background to help drive positive change and deliver tangible benefits to our members. There are some exciting new initiatives that we will be sharing with you, and we hope that many of you will take up the opportunity to maximise how these can deliver positive outcomes across your business. Thank you once again for your membership of EIDA and for finding the time to attend today’s event. We hope you find the meeting informative and enjoyable. If you have questions after the session, please get in-touch with one of the team.
