PRODUCTION BIOS

TED BAUMAN (Executive Producer) – Ted Bauman has more than 30 years experience in the film and television industry. He has been involved with many successful series, independent features and more than 40 television movies.

In 2000, Bauman formed Bauman Entertainment Inc., a full service production company involved in the development of original programming, co-development partnerships, line producing, production services and international co-production partnerships in Canada, the USA and around the world. Bauman Entertainment is a full service production company with turn- key production offices in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island (Victoria, BC). Corporate head offices are at North Shore Studios in North Vancouver.

Bauman Entertainment specializes in scripted dramatic programming, including television movies, mini-series, television series and independent features. Since 2000, Bauman Entertainment has produced more than twenty-five projects for networks/studios such as NBC, CBS, ABC, ABC Family, TNT, TBS, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Lifetime Network and Hallmark Channel. Bauman Entertainment also provides deficit financing, production services, domestic distribution and tax credit services.

Bauman Entertainment’s original programming includes such films as the Lifetime Original/ Sony Pictures television movie “Bond of Silence,” the miniseries “Seven Deadly Sins” and several television movies, including “Hunt for the I-5 Killer,” “Possessing Piper Rose” and Nancy Grace’s “The Eleventh Victim.” He is also the Executive Producer on the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, “When Sparks Fly.”

Bauman currently has two television movies in development at Hallmark Channel and a miniseries in development with Movie Central / TMN and ITV. He is a member of the Writers Guild of Canada, Directors Guild, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the CMPA.

JIM HEAD (Executive Producer) – Jim Head launched his independent production company, Head First Productions, in 2004, specializing in television movies, mini-series and series. Since starting his company, Head has developed and produced projects for NBC, CBS, Hallmark Hall of Fame, A&E, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, USA, TBS, ABC Family, Oxygen, Hallmark Channel and Nickelodeon. In the television long form arena, Head was an executive producer for “Behind the Camera: the Unauthorized Story of Mork & Mindy,” which aired in 2005 on NBC and which earned the prestigious Prism Award for excellence in the accurate depiction of alcohol and substance abuse.

Head also executive produced three movie projects for Lifetime Television, “A Christmas Wedding” starring Eric Mabius and Sarah Paulson which premiered Christmas 2006, “I Dream of

Murder,” starring Jolene Blalock which premiered in June 2006 and “Intimate Stranger” starring Kari Matchett, which premiered in October 2006. He also executive produced the Hallmark Movie Channel Original film “Strawberry Summer” starring Shelley Long and Cindy Williams and the Hallmark Channel Original Christmas themed movie “Let it Snow” starring Candace Cameron Bure. He produced the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie “Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness” starring Dean Cain and Peri Gilpin, which aired to extremely strong reviews in 2007 on CBS and was awarded a 2008 CAMIE Award for outstanding character in entertainment.

Head executive produced the movie “Gym Teacher: The Movie” for Nickelodeon, starring Christopher Meloni and Amy Sedaris, which premiered in September 2008. Currently, he is executive producing “Everything She Ever Wanted,” a mini-series starring Gina Gershon and Victor Garber for Lifetime Movie Network. Head and his company, Head First Productions, are partnered with Emmy®-winning producer Stan Brooks (“Broken Trail”) and Once Upon a Time Films.

As a writer, Head’s romantic comedy, “Uncorked” was produced as a Hallmark Channel Original Movie, starring Julie Benz, JoBeth Williams and Elliot Gould. He is currently writing “On Strike for Christmas,” a holiday movie for Lifetime Movie Network.

Prior to starting his own company, Head worked in the Turner Broadcasting organization, most recently as Head of Original Programming for TBS. While at TBS, he was responsible for the development and production of the network’s original movies, series and specials, having created TBS’s original programming division. During Head’s tenure at TBS, the network’s original movies carried the highest ratings average in all of basic cable. His movie, “First Daughter,” at the time of its airing earned the largest viewing audience for a movie, theatrical or original, in the history of basic cable. He was also at the helm for TBS’s successful original series, “Ripley’s Believe It or Not.”

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A., J.D.), Head currently splits his time between offices in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

MARK JEAN (Director) – Mark Jean caught the filmmaking bug while attending Western Michigan University. Determined to become a director he packed a U-haul with junk furniture, six plants and a Bolex and headed west. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications & Film at San Diego State University before relocating to Los Angeles where he attended The American Film Institute on full scholarship, receiving a Master’s degree in Directing. Jean won the George Foster Peabody Award for writing and directing a series of interstitials for Fox. He has directed multiple MOW’s, pilots and episodic series and written several screenplays. His first novel, Puddlejumpers, was published by Hyperion Books in 2008.

Jean directed and co-wrote the feature “Homecoming” based on the acclaimed best seller by Cynthia Voigt. The script received a WGA nomination for Best Longform Adaptation and the (more)

Recently he directed two indie features, “Early Bird Special,” a dark comedy and “Finn on the Fly,” a family comedy which he also co-wrote and won Best Feature Film at the Sprockets Toronto International Film Festival.

Jean wrote “The Dragon Hatcher” for Universal which he also directed. For producers and Jonathan Sanger he co-wrote “Beast of Bataan,” a historical drama. He directed the Hallmark Channel Original Movies “Come Dance At My Wedding,” “Three Weeks, Three Kids” and “The Christmas Ornament.” He also directed the Hallmark Movie Channel Original “Duke” based on a true story starring Steven Weber.

NANCEY SILVERS (Writer) – Writer and producer Nancey Silvers grew up in the middle of the entertainment industry as the daughter of comedian and Tony Award® winner, Phil Silvers. Silvers has amassed numerous writing credits for many made for TV movies including, the Emmy® nominated “Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy,” “And She Was Cougar,” “The Madam’s Family: The Truth About the Canal Street Brothel,” “Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman,” “The Elizabeth Smart Story,” “The Survivors Club” and the Humanitas Award nominee “Journey of Love.” In addition to writing Silvers also executive produced “Girl, Positive,” “Mom at Sixteen,” “Mom's On Strike,” “The Color of Love: Jacey's Story” and “Dog’s Best Friend” and she wrote the Hallmark Channel Original Movies “Debbie Macomber’s Call Me Mrs. Miracle” and “Love At The Thanksgiving Day Parade.” Most recently, Silvers wrote the screenplay for the Hallmark Movie Channel Original “The Color of Rain,” a true story based on the New York Times bestselling novel starring Lacey Chabert.

SHEILA ROBERTS (Author) – Sheila Roberts lives in the Pacific Northwest. Her books have been printed in several different languages and have been chosen for book clubs such as Doubleday as well as for Readers Digest Condensed books. Robert’s best-selling novel On Strike for Christmas was made into a movie and appeared on the Lifetime Movie Network and her novel Angel Lane was named one of Amazon’s Top Ten Romances for 2009.

When she's not making public appearances or playing with her friends, Roberts can be found writing about those things near and dear to women's hearts: Family, friends, and chocolate. Roberts is happily married and has three children.
