By referring to this instruc- tion set you (or your professional motorcycle technician) will need to determine the best mounting method to install this accessory on your motorcycle. NOTE: Prior to bra installation make sure your fairing is clean and waxed. Your bra’s soft inner liner will help protect the paint finish if you make sure no dirt or debris is present. STEP 1: Use a Phillips screwdriver and remove the five screws securing the windshield to the fairing. It is best to remove the windshield and set it in a safe place so it will not be damaged as you work on your motorcycle. Move to STEP 2. STEP 2: You must loosen the outer fairing from the inner dash so you can insert retention 1 STEP 2 strips around the bra’s perimeter. When the fairing and inner dash hardware is retightened, it will grasp the retention strips that are on the perimeter of the bra. This will help hold the fairing bra in place. Use the appropriate sized driver to remove the six Torx-style screws 1 from the inner dash. Move to STEP 3. STEP 3: Apply some thick, protective tape to the painted surface around the headlights’ STEP 3 bezel. This will help you protect the paint finish as you pry the bezel away from the fairing. Use a flat screwdriver or pry-bar to carefully pop the bezel out of the fairing and place it in a safe location. Move to STEP 4. CAUTION: The bezel can be difficult to remove if you are unfamiliar with its retention system. If you have difficulty removing the bezel, stop and get assistance from your dealer or a qualified technician. Improperly forcing the bezel out of the fairing can damage it or injure the fairing’s finish. STEP 4 STEP 4: The center of the fairing bra has nylon webbing loops 2 that will be captured by the tabs on the headlight bezel when it is reinstalled. This is the center section of the bra’s retention system. Move to STEP 5. 2 TIP: Before installation, unpack the fairing bra and allow it to rest unfolded in the warm sun. This will allow any winkles from packing to smooth out and make the SaddleHyde more pliable for installation. The images in this instruction set may be different than your accessory or motorcycle. Move to STEP 6. STEP 6: NOTE: When the bra is secured to the fairing by the bezel, you will see small STEP 6 notches 3 in the bra’s material near the bezel’s retention tabs. This is a normal part of the fairing bra’s design. Move to STEP 7. 3 TIP: As you smooth out the bra during installation, use a hair dryer to keep the vinyl material pliable and smooth. Do not use an industrial-level heat gun as it could dam- age the fairing bra. STEP 7: Around the perimeter of the bra are retention tabs 4 which go into the joint 5 5 STEP 7 between the outer fairing and the inner dash. When the inner dash’s Torx-style screws are reinstalled and tightened, the joint will close thus securing the tabs and the fairing bra. Move to STEP 8. 4 STEP 8 STEP 8: Continue around the edge of the fairing bra, carefully tucking the retention tabs into the gap between the outer fairing and the inner dash. Move to STEP 9. The images in this instruction set may be different than your accessory or motorcycle. Move to STEP 10. STEP 10: Unlike other fairing bras, your Saddlemen fairing bra does not require the fairing STEP 10 to be unbolted from the engine guard mount. Simply secure the two pairs of straps under the case guards near the front turn signals. Apply tension to the straps than then press the sides together so the hook-and-loop materiel on the straps engage and hold the bra in place. Move to STEP 11. STEP 11: Align the top five holes of the faring bra with the threaded inserts in the fairing for STEP 11 the windshield. You may want to loosen the straps you connected during STEP 10 so you can get the faring smooth when the holes align.
