Barjeel (A Darmanin) – Replated after arriving on course. Stood flat footed and was slow into stride (2L). RACE 2 – PETUNA SEAFOOD & GOURMET PANTRY MAIDEN – 1650 METRES Boss Cat (B McCoull) – Bumped at the start by Race The Wind. Race The Wind (T Germaine) – Commenced awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with Boss Cat. Rider T Germaine reported that the gelding may not have been suited racing in ear muffs for the first time. Gee Gees Magic Man (A Darmanin) – Lay in in the early part of the home straight. Rider A Darmanin stated that the gelding raced greenly throughout. Coronation Pia (T Baker) – Connections advised will attempt to be ridden further forward. Raced in a handy position. RACE 3 – GOODSTONE GROUP 2YO MAIDEN – 1150 METRES Gee Gee Bumble Bee (S Carr) – Inconvenienced at the start when bumped by Little River Miss. Weakened in the home straight. Rider S Carr stated that the gelding was making an unusual respiratory noise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Bit Of A Tickle (C Newitt) – Over raced in the middle stages. Lay in passing the 200 metres. Gee Gee Double Hot (T Baker) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Little River Miss (A Darmanin) – Shifted out at the start bumping Gee Gee Bumble Bee. Maceyanna (T Germaine) – Near the 800 metres was steadied when momentarily tightened by Miss Enthusiasm (D Ganderton). D Ganderton was advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances. Passing the 200 metres was inconvenienced and steadied outwards off the heels of Gee Gee Bumble Bee which was weakening. Miss Enthusiasm (D Ganderton) – Lay out between the 600 and 400 metres. RACE 4 – ATKINSON ELECTRICAL MAIDEN – 1009 METRES Worthy Opponent (C Newitt) – Lay out rounding the turn near the 600 metres inconveniencing Flying Virtue. Rider C Newitt could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance which was below market expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the inside near hind fetlock and an abrasion to the inside near hind pastern. Brimondo (T Germaine) – After racing wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward and take up the lead from the 600 metres. Saint Laura (A Patis) – After arriving at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination on request of its rider and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1.47 pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the announcement of correct weight Stewards ordered that all bets made prior to 1.47 pm be refunded in full and betting deductions of 8 cents in the dollar for the win and 8 cents in the dollar for the place were declared. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be submitted prior to Saint Laura racing again. Fighting Phoenix (D Ganderton) – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Flying Virtue (A Darmanin) – Raced keenly in the early stages. Inconvenienced approaching the 600 metres. RACE 5 – TAB MAIDEN – 1350 METRES The start of this race was delayed due to an interstate thoroughbred race running behind schedule. Thineisthekingdom (A Darmanin) – Underwent a veterinary examination and passed suitable to race as the gelding had not raced since February 2018. Gee Gee Caughtya (B McCoull) – Passing the 200 metres momentarily held up for clear running. Sanction King (C Newitt) – Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by Gee Gee Smart Lady which had been taken out by Midnight Quest. Gee Gee Smart Lady (A Patis) – Carried outwards at the start by Midnight Quest. Miss Tangerine (E Kacmaz) – Checked at the start between Terrific Torri and Sanction King which was taken outward by Gee Gee Smart Lady which in turn was taken out by Midnight Quest. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider E Kacmaz explained that after receiving interference at the start his intention was to race with cover. However, the filly commenced to over race and with the slow tempo he was unable to do so and raced wider than intended. Terrific Torri (T Voorham) – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Midnight Quest (D Parish) – Shifted outwards on jumping away. RACE 6 – SIMONS DESIGN CENTRE BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP – 1350 METRES Date Night (S Carr) – Held up for clear running between the 300 and 150 metres. Jacques (B McCoull) – Approaching the 600 metres got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance. Performed below expectations. Rider Brendon McCoull stated that the gelding raced ungenerously in the middle stages but could offer no further explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Al Cosmic Gift (T Germaine) – Passing the 200 metres lay in towards the heels of Garland (C Newitt) which shifted out under pressure. Craig Newitt was advised to exercise care when shifting ground. Jubilance (T Baker) – Rider T Baker explained that the mare failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Louise (T Voorham) – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers after being kicked by another runner and was passed suitable to race. Rider Teagan Voorham accidentally dropped her whip near the 50 metres. Garland (C Newitt) – Slow into stride. Kathonious (A Darmanin) – Raced three wide without cover throughout. RACE 7 – YAK ALE BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP – 1009 METRES Braccenby (C Newitt) – Eased at the start when crowded for room by Gee Gee Rich Ruby which shifted out. Gee Gees Style (D Ganderton) – Shifted in on jumping away. Debseraa (A Darmanin) – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Gee Gee Spitfire (S Carr) – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight. Gee Gees Cricket (A Patis) – Approaching the 600 metres was restrained and taken in by Cranbrook. Passing the 200 metres when racing tight between Debseraa and Gee Gee Rich Ruby momentarily steadied when brushing with Gee Gee Rich Ruby. Tambro’s Game (D Parish) – Raced wide throughout. Party Planner (T Voorham) – Approaching the 600 metres was checked and tightened for room between Gee Gee Rich Ruby and Gee Gees Cricket when taken inward by Cranbrook. Gee Gee Rich Ruby (T Baker) – Approaching the 600 metres was tightened for room by Party Planner and taken inwards by Gee Gees Cricket which had been taken inwards by Cranbrook. Near the 200 metres brushed with Gee Gees Cricket. Jessie Prevails (E Kacmaz) – Commenced awkwardly and then checked off the heels of Gee Gees Style which shifted in. T Germaine (Cranbrook) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 131(a) careless riding, the carelessness being that approaching the 600 metres he permitted his mount to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear of Gee Gees Cricket which was tightened in onto Party Planner which in turn was tightened in onto Gee Gee Rich Ruby. As a result Party Planner had to be checked and lost its position. T Germaine’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 Tasmanian race meetings commencing at midnight 21 April 2019 and to expire midnight 28 April 2019. In determining penalty Stewards took into account T Germaine’s guilty plea, good record and that the incident was in the mid-range. RACE 8 – THAI IMPERIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1150 METRES Winky Dink (C Newitt) – Slow into stride. Congomotion (T Voorham) – Slow into stride. The Hussler (M Ulucinar) – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Knitting (T Baker) – Approaching the 200 metres was tightened for room between Gee Gee Musicmaker and Miss Eleanor (E Kacmaz) which had shifted out. E Kacmaz was advised to exercise far greater care when shifting ground. Performed below expectations, rider T Baker stated that the mare travelled well however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure. Trainer E Batt will be contacted in the coming days regarding the mare’s performance. Miss Eleanor (E Kacmaz) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Gee Gee Musicmaker (S Carr) – Approaching the 600 metres was eased when momentarily tightened for room by Miss Eleanor (E Kacmaz) which shifted in when not quite clear. E Kacmaz was advised to exercise care when shifting ground. Shortly after checked out over the heels of that filly. Rider S Carr explained that the filly was reluctant to take the run to the inside of Gee Gees Turf Talk and lay out towards heels approaching the finish.

Weather: Fine Track: Races 1-5: Soft 2.9; Races 6-9: Good 2.8 Rail position: 2.50m RACE 1 – THE MTC WELCOMES THE INDIAN OCEAN GAMES 2019 CUP – 1500M Silver Rock – Fractious in its gate prior to the start being effected, then jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. Approaching the 600 metres raced tight on the inside of Got To Fly and brushed the running rail. League Of Legends – Stood flat-footed, losing considerable ground. Never Fear – When urged forward after the start, shifted out and brushed Got To Fly . Inconvenienced near the 100 metres. He’s Got Gears – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 1100 metres was eased to secure a position one off the rail. Passing the 400 metres was taken out from behind Got To Fly to improve its position. Shifted ground inwards in the home straight. Radlet – From its wide draw was taken across to race behind runners. Taken out to improve from the 350 metres and raced wide into the home straight. Social Network – Slow into stride. Blunderbuss – Slow to begin and, when being urged forward, failed to muster speed. Approaching the 600 metres raced momentarily tight on the inside of Got To Fly and brushed the running rail. Eased off the heels of Got To Fly approaching the 300 metres. Got To Fly – Approaching the 600 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Blazing Heart , which had shifted ground when insufficiently clear.

Weather: Fine Track: Races 1-5: Soft 2.9; Races 6-9: Good 2.8 Rail position: 2.50m RACE 1 – THE MTC WELCOMES THE INDIAN OCEAN GAMES 2019 CUP – 1500M Silver Rock – Fractious in its gate prior to the start being effected, then jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. Approaching the 600 metres raced tight on the inside of Got To Fly and brushed the running rail. League Of Legends – Stood flat-footed, losing considerable ground. Never Fear – When urged forward after the start, shifted out and brushed Got To Fly. Inconvenienced near the 100 metres. He’s Got Gears – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 1100 metres was eased to secure a position one off the rail. Passing the 400 metres was taken out from behind Got To Fly to improve its position. Shifted ground inwards in the home straight. Radlet – From its wide draw was taken across to race behind runners. Taken out to improve from the 350 metres and raced wide into the home straight. Social Network – Slow into stride. Blunderbuss – Slow to begin and, when being urged forward, failed to muster speed. Approaching the 600 metres raced momentarily tight on the inside of Got To Fly and brushed the running rail. Eased off the heels of Got To Fly approaching the 300 metres. Got To Fly – Approaching the 600 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Blazing Heart, which had shifted ground when insufficiently clear.
